Best Rock Bottom so far. Aroma is malty, choc and coffee. Flavor is balanced and very tasty, smooth and clean as most of their brews are.

This was quite a nice porter. On the darker end of the already dark porter spectrum. Got a half gallon jug for $6!! Needless to say I drank most of it in one night. Great thing about this beer is that it will leave you without a hangover. If you are going to Rock Bottom in Portland, you should try this for sure, along with the cream stout if it’s in season.

Dark brown, with a minimal head, and a nice mild malty aroma. A lovely roasted flavor, pleasantly bitter, and quite good for a chain brew.

On tap at Portland location. Dark brown with ruby edges and a white head. Nice aroma of roasted malt and mocha. Flavor has notes of caramel, toffee, roasted malt and chocolate. Finish is expectedly roasty as well. Thin bodied with moderate carbonation. Solid

troopie (2319) - Munchen an der Willamette, Oregon, USA - DEC 11, 2007
Draught. Poured black with thin white head no lacing. Malty aroma with a bit of chocolate. Spicy and peppery flavour, not unplesent, but unlike most porters. Peppery finish. It’s hard to rate this, it’s so unlike most other porters.

dkoonce (911) - People’s Republic of Athens, Ohio, USA - AUG 18, 2008
Deep brown, almost black, with a thin creamy head. Very hoppy, with flavors of smoky peat and hops dominating. A little thin as well.

BückDich (5464) - McCall, Idaho, USA - JUL 8, 2004
Brown/ruby porter. Low head, some lacing. Aroma is fig & chocolate, lots of roasted barley. The flavor has crispy roast & hops profile with moderate dark malts. Light sweet coffee finish. Not too bad. Typical.

beerinmarch (2830) - Washington, USA - JUL 11, 2004
Pours a nice dark brown with a light tan head that falls fast. Nice roastyness to the aroma with some chocolate tones. Taste started rich and roasty, chocolate, with a slight bitterness towards the end and a faint coffee taste in the aftertaste.
