Premium British two-row malts give this beer a sweet malty character and plenty of hops give it a crisp finish. Editor's Note: This is one of Rock Bottom's standard brews and is available at many locations.

Ungstrup (37625) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - AUG 18, 2006
Bethesda location. A hazy orange beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet with a light touch of hops. While the flavor is sweet with strong notes of berries and caramel, as well as lighter notes of wood, leading to a dry bitter finish. I find it somewhat boring.

Tmoney99 (14492) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JUN 4, 2006
Draft sampler in Indy. Poured clear dark reddish amber with an average frothy white head that mostly lasted with fair lacing. Light roasted malt sour citrus aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture. Medium bitter sweet flavor with a sweet finish of moderate duration.

argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - NOV 2, 2003
(Bethesda) Clear copper body with a beige head. Aroma is floral, malty, light grapefruit. Taste is medium sweet, grapefruit, roasty, malty, some floral. Medium body. Very pleasant amber -- good for beginners, and for the rest of us.

bu11zeye (13029) - Frisco (Dallas), Texas, USA - NOV 12, 2003
(Draught) Pours a cooper color with a small beige head. Descent tasting amber ale.

UPDATED: JAN 16, 2004 1/13/04: From a sampler at the Indy location: I liked this one a little better than the Cincinnati version. Pours a reddish amber color with a medium thin light beige head. Minimal lacing. The aroma is mostly caramel and malt with some hops. Medium body with a subdued malt flavor, as well as a pinch of nuts and caramel. The finish is not that great though.
7/28/03 (2.2): Tasted at the Cincinnati location. Dark amber color with a thin off-white head. Thin lacing. Light sweet malt aroma. Medium body with a bland malt flavor and a somewhat sticky finish. I did not enjoy this one much.

hopdog (12575) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 15, 2005
On tap at the Milwaukee Location. Poured a medium copper color with a smaller sized off white head. Aromas and tastes of caramel and some hops. Nothing much more.

hopscotch (11101) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - AUG 2, 2006
Draft... Bethesda location... Mostly clear amber ale with a small, fizzy, off-white head. The nose is a marriage of caramel, grapefruit, pine and apricot. Sturdy malt, but not standout. Hopped nicely. Leans slightly on the bitter side of balance. Medium-bodied with sufficient carbonation. Bone-dry finish.

3fourths (9347) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - JUN 19, 2007
Bethesda location. Amber clear appearance. Fruity nose with light to moderate hop presence, mostly a fruit cocktail, pear and lightly toasted grain nose. Flavor is similar, lightly bitter, lightly hoppy pears and marachino cherries. Wet and slick palate, seems to be the standard with Rock Bottom beer. Just drinkable.

chriso (7533) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUL 16, 2007
On tap (sampler) at the Bethesda location, July 2006. More copper than red. Decent balance of dry malt and earthy hop. Rather reminiscent of an English bitter in character. Quite decent.
