From the tap this poured a very dark brown body with a tan head and loads of heavy lace. The aroma had a dark caramel, roasty malt sweetness and strong hop scents of grapefruit, zest, and a hit of pine. The flavor is well balanced, tipping towards the hop bitterness. A dollop of chocolate is added to the maltiness along with some dark toast. The more assertive hops lead you to a dry, mildly bitter finish. Nice job by brewmaster Griffin Ford. And following the menu’s advice, I both started and finished my meal with this brew.
