Pours cloudy gold with a thick white head. Aroma of ripe banana and clove. Good clove in the flavor, I almost expected a sweeter beer dominated a little more by the banana based on the aroma, but it was only mildly sweet. Great Hefe though. jacare (21) - Hinsdale, Illinois, USA - AUG 29, 2009
Cloudy darker straw color. Served in a pint glass, so couldn’t pick up a lot of aroma. Very flavorful, grain and esthers, but not as concise as an import german hefe, like my standard bearer Weihenstephaner. Full bodied and chewy, I enjoyed this beer. I would order it again. Good hefe. tmoreau (4298) - Lombard, Illinois, USA - AUG 10, 2009
On tap at Yorktown. Poured in a Mug Club mug a cloudy, light gold/straw hue with a white, frothy head and clingy curtains of lacing. The aroma was of ripe banana, (not the candy peanuts) spice as clove , and a little grain. The flavor was the aroma notes plus a little sausagy hint of yeast, malt, some mid-fruit, and a moderate but persistent hop bitterness. A refreshing, hopped up hefe. On tap at Yorktown. Pours a hazy golden glowing body with bright white head that begins to dissipate very quickly after pour but sticks around at a point. Banana and clove aromas not as strong as hoped for. A bit fuller Hefe body, strong banana and clove initial that mixes and balances well with the same flavors and citrus on the backend. Very smooth balanced finish. Probably my favorite Hefe to date. Wonderful! kseecs16 (1216) - Naperville, Illinois, USA - JUN 16, 2008
Cloudy, golden creamy lacing white head. Rich wheat clove aroma. Nice rich palate finishes crisp and tart. A good job of a german style hefe with the fresh spice and fruit aroma and flavors.

This poured hazy and yellow to golden in color. The aromas were "classic" showing off banana, clove and yeast along with a vanilla edge. The palate begins off nice but turns a bit watery in the midpalate and ends abrubtly. Good start but falls off to quick. drewbeerme (3920) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUN 4, 2008
UPDATED: SEP 6, 2008 draft. pours cloudy gold with foamy white head. aroma of banana, lemon, vanilla, and some eggs. flavor of banana, vanilla, orange, wheaty-leathery finish. very clean in that American style kind of way. nicely done.3.6. mgoy (344) - New York, New York, USA - MAY 9, 2008
9/5/08, dag yo this is a great classic hefe, right behind New Glarus Dancing Man Wheat. balanced well with classic hefe character. 3.9.
On tap at Rock Bottom Yorktown. Rock Bottom Yorktown Gogootz Hefeweizen is a hazy yellow color with a very nice fluffy white head. The aroma is nice with soft wheat notes and some citrus, clove and corriander hints. The flavor is very creamy with a nice finish but slightly sour aftertaste. Drinking this, I can appreciate why Tim Marshall pulled awards for this brew. Nice hefeweizen pour, a cloudy deep straw body with a sizeable head that laced my mug (? - You know RBs and proper glassware...) thickly. The aroma has soft wheat along with a light scenting of clove and green bananas. The banana becomes somewhat more pronounced in the flavor, the wheat takes on a flakey taste, the clove recedes a bit, and touches of vanilla and bubblegum show up. Nice and refreshing.DrnkMcDermott (3096) - Downers Grove, Illinois, USA - SEP 5, 2007
I forgot to ask Tim how he named this ale. It soundds like the noises that my gut was making a few days ago when I was recovering from food poisoning. Ouch!

Sampler. Cloudy yellow, with a lacy ring of foam at the edge. Clean wheat smell without the usual hefe esters. Nice hoppy nose up front, then the wheaty softness of Roman Meal bread. Very clean taste with just a bit of clove. More of a corss with an American wheat. In fact, the assistant brewer told me "sometimes we want to make a banana bomb, sometimes not." This is one of those "nots." In fact, he confirmed on non-German hop bill of Warrior, Chinook and Santiam. Very enjoyable.
