On tap at the Yorktown brewpub, and dispensed to a chalice with a cloudy, reddish brown hue, a good amount of silky, light tan foam to the head, and curtainy lacing that turned web-like as the beer warmed. The aroma was toasty, cocoa, a touch of wood/smoke, and a little tartness. The flavor added more complexity with notes of spice, dark fruit, and lurking alcohol. On tap at Yorktown. Served in a chalice a cloudy brown amber with a thin creamy off white head. Sweet aromas of plums and brown sugar with a touch of yeast and alcohol coming through. Lively carbonation. Roses and brown sugar malts in the front with an approaching spice, grass, and herbal hop. Finishes bitter with drying herbal hops. I really enjoyed this one. Poured on tap at Yorktown. Pours a hazy deep nut brown with smalle but pretty offwhite head. Initial taste a bit boozy and strong. Deep dark malts take over with a bit of a belgian spiciness. Still, I feel the malts pervade. Chocolate, vanilla, caramel (Like a sundae) notes linger on the tounge as the backend takes a a still strong taste. On tap at RB – Yorktown. Poured deep caramelly-brown with a shorter cap of deeper off-white head. The aroma picked up deeper fruity notes with clove spicage.. sweet overall feel with a dry, grainy undertone.. dry, mulled candi sugar gave the final impression. The flavor had sweeter candi sugar and plums with caramel and more fruit at the core.. light chocolate and aged caramel toward the back with sharp, spicy, peppery alcohol at the finish.. solid. Medium-plus bodied with heavier carbonation and sharp notes at the back.. OK balance.. meh.

Cask at the pub. Scent is alcohol, chocolate, bready. Appears dark brown with thing off-white head, reddish hues. Complex flavor, chocolate, dark fruit with a dry malty bitterness. Smooth creamy cask palate really lends itself to this brew. mgoy (344) - New York, New York, USA - MAY 9, 2008
On tap at Rock Bottom in Yorktown. Rock Bottom Yorktown Pierrot Bière de Garde is a hazy/muddy mahagony color with a soft caramel/off-white head. The aroma is very light and all noticeable hints are creamy. The flavor is earthy with sweet fruits and an underlining hint of alcohol. Draft... DLD’08... Muddy, brown ale with a large, frothy, white head. The nose is all cookie and cocoa with unidentified spiciness and grains. Full-bodied with a sandy mouthfeel and soft carbonation. mahogoney pour with minimal bubblage for head. nose was realy shallow, I was slightly clogged but it didn’t seem to be affecring me before this brew. sugary sweet with notes of raisin and caraamel but subdued. flavor similar but left a bitter almost rooty flavor going down. very drinkable. pantanap (3366) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - APR 28, 2008
had a taste from a growler that andrew shared on DLD. thanks.... poured a hazy caramel brown with a barely noticeable thin wispy off-white head..... aroma of earthy grainy malt that was somewhat lacking.....flavores of muted earthy malt with some hops coming through in the finish.
