On tap and mugclub served, displaying a very cloudy, light apricot juice color, and a small amount of off white head foam that diminished completely, leaving almost no lacing to speak of. The aroma presented a hint of yeast, light grain, a light hefe nose of banana and spice, as coriander, light fruit, and a little citric tartness. The flavor added low hop bitterness in a fairly light body as per the style, but low effervescence detracted from a better finishing effect, and left a thin impression. Draft on tap at the brewpub (Lombard, IL). Pours a murky straw hue, like fresh applesauce with a small whitish head that dies to a tiny film, laces small. Aromas are big dose of flaked wheat, banana and pear, some coriander, touch of yeasty spice. Initial is a big dose of banana and bubblegum, a bit sweet overall, trailing into flaked wheat, grainy bread, some orange peel, light coriander and trailing dry bread and some lingering spicy yeast. Overall, too sweet and estery for me. Not clean, but the banana is nice, the bubblegum gets a little cloying. DrnkMcDermott (3104) - Downers Grove, Illinois, USA - NOV 18, 2010
Mug Club Draft at RBY. Banana and bubble gum esters can be smelled from a distance here. A cloudy yellow color under a white head that stands tall, but only for a short while. Taste has more banana than anything, giving it a ripe hefeweizen flavor. Plenty of light malt taste too, to carry it along. Coriander and other spicy notes finally come in halfway through. Pretty good, but a basic standard for a wit.
