Pour is a brown with a small tan head. Aroma is a nice smoke at first followed by some leather tannis. Flavor is smoke to start then comes an ok breadyness.

Tasted on draft at 2015 St. Louis Microfest in a willi becher glass. It poured an opaque dark brown colour, no head. Strong dark malt flavours, much too burnt and smoky for me, with diacetyl and an odd tartness underneath. Medium body and carbonation. Not terrible but not good. It’s rare that I meet a brown ale I don’t like. EtTuCthulhu (1391) - Columbia, Missouri, USA - DEC 1, 2014
The beer pours a clear reddish brown color with a large off-white head, and the aroma blends smoked, roasted, and caramel malts. The taste, though, is not great due to mild sourness and touch of umami, and the aftertaste is reminiscent of smouldering ashes and campfires. After you’ve swallowed, it feels as if you want to move out of the wind of a wood fire. The palate fueses a slick texture, medium-light body, and a soft carbonation. Pint at ITAP Columbia. Dark brown with a lot of amber. A thicker layer that leaves a lotbof lacing. There is some smoke but it was not over done. This is quite bitter with a bigger hop profile than most. Citrus. Malts are just about right. A nice balance of sweet and bitter. I love the lw ABV. jcnielsen (3416) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - MAR 30, 2013
On tap at 1839 Taphouse in Columbia. Pours a brown color with white head. Nutty, syrup, roasty flavors. Kind of fake syrupy, nutty flavor.

Pour is a brown with a small tan head. Aroma is a nice smoke at first followed by some leather tannis. Flavor is smoke to start then comes an ok breadyness. The low alcohol is a plus but I think adding more malt to amp the alcohol up a bit would have helped with the flavor. Still this is a decent smoked beer as the smoke is there but not in a meat bomb kinda way. vyvvy (6639) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - OCT 28, 2012
Sampled at Augusta Bottoms Beer Fest - Pours clear brown / bronze with a soapy tan head. The aroma is toasty, nutty, soapy and has a touch of smoke along with some minerals. The body is pretty thin with somewhat sharp sharp carbonation, but not a lot of carbonation. The flavor starts metallic and medicinal and a bit of nuttiness. This one didn’t work for me.
