tmoreau (3848) - Lombard, Illinois, USA - MAY 16, 2015
On tap at Warrens Ale House in Wheaton, IL., showing a hazed, mid-amber color, with a presentable layer of off white head froth, and ribbony cling to the lacing. The nose was light graininess, dried fruit as apricot & peach, with subtle spice, and a hint of caramel sweetness. The taste was similar notes, including a bit more sweetness, some alcohol warmth, tanginess, and low, earthy bitterness. A bit of watery texture, and fair to soft carbonation skewed a hopeful perception of the body to less than medium. Okay, but dull hued, somewhat thin, not too complex, and basically,... not very Dubbel-ish.
