Had this on Tap at RRBC. There is a slight acidity to the aroma and a touch of rich chocolate. The flavor is smooth, with rich malt and is soft on the palate. The chocolate shows through in the finish. Tasty! ExSpectator (65) - Cleveland, Ohio, USA - MAR 18, 2007
On tap @ RRBC. Near black with a medium tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate and caramel. Taste is chocolate with a roasted malt presence. Fairly dry. Good. kujo9 (1095) - North Ridgeville, Ohio, USA - JAN 5, 2005
On tap @ R.R. brewing. Matt was not available to find out the ABV so I’ll send in corrections as I get them: Almost black w/ a lasting light chocolate bar brown head. Strong chocolate aroma in the immediate nose, caramel and light roasty, and sweet aroma. Very little fruitiness, and a lightly milky lactic aroma. Roast gets stronger as it warms. Well balanced overall w/ a chocolate, roasty, grainy, malt flavor. Finish is dry and chocolatey that lingers into the aftertaste; a light tartness from the dark grains. The caramel is not as obvious in the flavor as it seems in the nose, and has minimal herbal hop flavor in the finish as well. Medium body & carb. level, dry m/f. When I hear cream stout, I think sweet stout, but this was a little dryer than I’d expected. If this truly was a sweet stout, I think it needs to be a little sweeter IMHO. Overall a very good stout though!!!!!!
