Sampler at the brewpub. Pours a thin, poorly retained off white head, over a possibly clear, brown (SRM 30) body.....nose is chocolate, coffee, cocoa.....taste is chocolate, coffee, cocoa, sweet toffee/caramel, finishing with a mild roasted malt hop bitterness.....mouth feel medium, slightly sticky, with a creamy oat mouth feel. Overall a very nice Stout with the malt back bone very complex and thorough. Given the changes in rating they must have significantly modified the recipe. BJCP 7/3/14/4/7

12 oz bottle from Tipsy’s into my Funkwerks glass. Black with a small tan head that dissipates to nothing. The aroma is caramel, milk chocolate, roasted malts, light bitter hops, rye bread and a touch of spices. Similar flavor with vanilla and earth. Medium sweetness and light bitterness. Pour on tap at the brewery, dark brownish black pour with slightly tan head, aroma brought notes of dark chocolate, caramel, some roasted malt into some slight yeast, touch of coffee in there as well.
