COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Rodenbach Alexander was brewed for the first time in 1986 on the occasion of Alexander Rodenbachs 200th birthday and is now back by popular demand to the delight of beer lovers in Belgium and abroad. It is a blend of 2/3rd aged Rodenbach (100% 2 year aged beer) with 1/3rd younger ale, macerated with sour cherries. The natural flavour and taste of sour cherries brings a perfect match between the sour beer and the red fruit. Its aftertaste is reminiscent of a Burgundy wine and its freshness makes this beer the perfect aperitif or accompaniment to cheeses or dessert. Note: The 2016 version has the abv of 5.6%

Huge thanks to TChrome for sharing this bottle. Brown-red pour with a small head. Aroma smells a lot like apple cider vinegar, without too much else going on. The flavor is a lot different - in a good way. I get a load of cherry notes, as well as some brown sugar, toffee and vinegar. Thin mouthfeel and low carbonation. Awesome.

Bottle from tavour. Ppurs brownish red. Aroma of sweet cherrys. Taste is a nice balance of sweet cherry, lots of oak and a slight vinegar. Nice beer.

Aromat to wiśniowa pestka połączona z lekkimi szampańskimi nutami. W smaku mamy lekki ocet połączony z dosyć słodkimi wiśniami. Całkiem nieźle to gra. Alkohol o dziwo lekko rozgrzewa, ale nie jest to męczące.

Bottle. Ruddy brown. Wow, this is candy. Sweet cherries, big time, over tarter red fruits and cider. Huge flavor - sweet cider vinegar with candied cherries galore. Sweeter than Id usually go for, but delicious.

Sour, tart, cherry, a bit sweet aroma. Not super complex but very pleasant. Taste is way more sweeter than I was expecting. But on the other hand its impossible not to notice the sourness. I would say it has a perfect balance between those two. Think I really like about it, is theres almost no vineger in taste, just s tiny tiny touch in the back, which makes it a bit wild. Awesome smooth mouthfeel, perfect carbonation. Not the best, not the most amazing beer I ever had, but its super solid, really well made. Classy. Like it a lot.

Clear, ruby red colored, small off white head. Aroma is tart fruity, cherries, sweetish juice, vinous, not too sour aceto. Taste is medium sweet malt, fruity and cherry juice, vinous, some woody notes, moderate fruity tartness and acetic acid, dry finish. Medium bodied, average carbonation, juicy! This is so fine! Ładny czerwony kolor. Sporo octu, czerwone owoce, pestki. W smaku jest zdecydowanie słodkie, słodycz dominuje nad kwasnoscia. Poza tym sporo owocw, wiśnie i ocet. Dobre, ale jak dla mnie za słodkie, przez co wydaje się mało złożone.

Pours a reddish brown color with a large creamy canvas colored head. Notes of cherry medicine, oak, vinegar, powdered sugar, and dust. Nice tart mouthfeel and a long drying finish.

Butelka. Aromat owocowy, ciemne owoce, mile i dojrzałe. W smaku dosyć słodkie, tylko lekko kwaśne, dosyć soczkowe, trochę brak złożoności np takiego vintage.

750mL corked & caged bottle from Slowbeer. BB 09/2019 Rather gorgeous deep ruby red beer, slightly tan dense foam. Vinous aroma, rather complex one at that - cherries of sour & black & red, pips & ripe brown stalks, old wood, dried fruits, aged balsamic. Has a lifted but very fine carbonation providing a lovely creaminess to the palate combining with a delightful mouth-puckering tartness and lingering (pip?) tannin. Fresh & vibrant - sweet to start, cherries kick in reasonably intensely but its not a one trick pony - balsamic notes, wood & spice, and savoury notes. Lovely beer - so delicately balanced.
