COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The brewer allow the beer to macerate with fresh cherries, raspberries and cranberries. After this maceration in oak, the beer re-ferments in the bottle. The result is RODENBACH Caractère Rouge, an exceptional RODENBACH with fruit maceration and a 7% alcohol volume. The brew is more than unique and extremely exclusive, as only 900 75-cl bottles were produced. Geunes serves this wilful beer as part of his other unique range of beer varieties in his restaurant, ’t Zilte, at the Antwerp MAS museum.

UPDATED: OCT 9, 2017 Fantastisch van kleur. Diep robijnrood. Mooie neus. Fris-zurig. Véél rood fruit (aardbei, kers, bessen). Drinkt heel lekker weg. Elke slok doet je verlangen naar een volgende slok. Fruitige rinse afdronk die redelijk lang blijft hangen. Absoluut topbier.

UPDATED: OCT 8, 2017 Pinkish red colour. Lots of sparkles. fizzy moutfeel, fruity, cherry and lots of sweetness dominating over the sourness. Some taste of oak can also be found. Splendid top notch aperitif I would call this!

Bottle from Beer Gonzo, shared at a tasting. Colour is bergundy merging into brown. Small white head. Massively fruity nose. Body is light and refreshing. The cherry, raspberry and cranberry all come through, and it is predominantly sweet, with malt and acetic flavours sitting slightly behind.

Heerlijk complex zuurbier dankzij zijn bosvruchten & rodenbachbasis, De kersen maken het iets zoeter. de eik zorgt voor diepgang. Verfrissend dessertbier.

Keg, Brewdog Leicester. Red, purple, brown with an off white head. Tart cherry drop sweets with dry cranberry juice. Musty yeast with oak barrel. Spicy. Quite viscous, sweet and juicy fruit with sourness to follow. Hints of cheese. Floral aspects. Puckering and refreshing. Want more.

Nice! Full of aroma, sweet and sour. Aroma is complex, but I expected more... It is little bit like a wine or champagne. Very refreshing. But for this price I expected more and I prefer caractere rouge. FOOD RECOMMENDED!

rumore (700) - Rimini, ITALY - SEP 20, 2017
From the tap at FOB, Rimini, Italy. Pours intense red with limited pink foam. Aroma is intense cherries. Body is fairly light, feeling almost like a drink. Taste is an enjoyable combination of sweet and sour, the former coming soon, and the latter more afterwards. Finish is short and clean.
