COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The brewer allow the beer to macerate with fresh cherries, raspberries and cranberries. After this maceration in oak, the beer re-ferments in the bottle. The result is RODENBACH Caractère Rouge, an exceptional RODENBACH with fruit maceration and a 7% alcohol volume. The brew is more than unique and extremely exclusive, as only 900 75-cl bottles were produced. Geunes serves this wilful beer as part of his other unique range of beer varieties in his restaurant, ’t Zilte, at the Antwerp MAS museum.

[email protected] pre-gbbf shindig 2012. Rosé colour, small white head. Aroma is floral, raspberries, strawberries, cherries and some mild cherry stones along with some tart wooden notes. Flavour is fruity, raspberries, strawberries and cherry in a quite nice mix. Mild dry wooden notes as well. Somehow this one didn’t impress me that much.

Bottled at PBF. hazy copper/amber, minimal head. Tart woody cherry/raspberry aroma. Dryish with woody vinegar and light-medium body and rounded mouthfeel. Cider vinegar and sour wood, slight red berries. Not as deep as most Rodenbach versions.

ChrisOs Marvellous Pre GBBF Mega Tasting. Bright red - amber beer with a residual pink head. Light dry palate, crispy. Typical Rodenbach - Mild Worcester sauce and vinegar but this one with added sweeteness, funk and raspberry and cherry fruits. Semi dry finish with the vinegar sourness starting to dominate. All right.
