From ’t Vosken in Gent. Clear, ruby red. Not much head or carbonation. Very strong acetic aroma and flavor. Some malt flavor. No hops in the aroma or flavor. Strong acetic vinegar component. Some oak. Quite nice, but not for the faint of heart. Not positive if the very strong acetic component is intentional or if this keg has been sitting around a bit too long.

Benzai (16250) - Oirschot, THE NETHERLANDS, NETHERLANDS - SEP 21, 2017
Draught at Beer Temple shared with SinH4. Clear amber color, average sized white to off-white head. Smell and taste are moderate to medium sour, dry, wood, oak. Good for the style I guess and for the style I like it, but in general, I won't finish a glass of this.

Tap at beertemple. Hazy brown-amber color with fluffy white head. Aroma is balsamico, brown malts, cherries. Taste is balsamico, wood, earthy, leathery, comparably rough and not really sweet, darker than the regular releases by Rodenbach. Super-oily mouthfeel, near-flat. Very tasty!

Taste is funky, smooth and slightly sourish with some berries, wood, oak and tartness. Finish is funky yeasty and earthy with some wood, oak, sour berries and tartness. Quite interesting.

Fad. Rødlig let diset øl med er lille skumhoved. Duft af balsamico eddike. Smagen er meget surere end jeg forventede men på den gode måde. Alt i alt en fremragende øl

On tap @Birrifugio Trastevere (Rome). Aspetto vinoso, leggermente torbida, schiuma bianca media, non molto persistente. Al naso sentori vinosi, frutta rossa, note citriche, leggero aceto balsamico. In bocca è molto acida, citrica, tagliente, leggermente acetica, astringente. Corpo medio, carbonazione media. Impegnativa.

Almost clear amber color with a fine head on top. Good intensity in the aroma. Medium + body and a soft carbonation level. Oily texture. Pleasant acidity and a fine mellow sweetness. Cherries, fruity, vinegar and oak are dominating the flavor. Nice tasty evening sipper.

Pours a deep, hazy brownish red on tap with a ring bubbly tan head that leaves light lace. Aroma of dark fruity notes over lactic acidity and a mild funk. Taste follows, nice mild acidity that blends well with the Belgian esters and a hint of the musty funk from the foeder. A nice treat.
