A blend of 1/3 young beer and 2/3 of beer aged 2 years in large oak vats. The more important proportion of oak matured beer contributes to its fruity taste, complexity and intensity. The finish is worthy of a great wine.

To start off I don’t usually like sours, this one is good. Poured into a tulip from a bottle, very nice reddish brown color with minimal head, the aroma is tart giving a hint of the sourness to come, the taste is fruity, grape and lemon being prominent, the carbonation is nice not too crisp, mild hint of bitterness with residual tartness.

From a 12 oz bottle into a New Belgium Buddy stem glass. Pours brown with head and lace. Aroma of malted cherry juice. Medium carbonation and significant mouthfeel. Flavors of cherry juice, slight malt, slight balsamic vinagrette, slight cherry cough drop. Overall flavorful, relatively smooth for a Flanders red...not too tart or vinegar but quite tasty and drinkable and would pair well with many foods.

Tap at Refuge - OMFG - this is fantastic - the funky farmyard aroma didn’t prepare me for sour funk heaven - could smash this but it’s too good and demands respectful quaffing..!

Small bottle from BC Liquor store at Capilano Mall in North Vancouver. Pleasantly sour - fruity, dryer than Duchesse de Bourgogne. Quite nice. 3.9

Czerwone, opalizujące, piana natychmiast zredukowała się do obrączki, trwałej. Aromat winny, owocowy, słodycz suszonych owoców. W ustach musujące, owocowe z nutą słodyczy i tłem wyśmienitej kwasowości. Wytrawne z długim kwaśnym i tanicznym finiszem.

Jesper86 (169) - NETHERLANDS - DEC 3, 2017
UPDATED: DEC 3, 2017 Very sour. Brett-y flavours. Stables, cherries, raspberries, redcurrant. Complex beer. Not a fan at the beginning but with an hour or so of air it gets increasingly better.

Mein all-time favorite in diesem Bierstil.

UPDATED: DEC 4, 2017 in the 100 belgium beers to try before you die . Pours ruby brow. Woody fruit nose . Tastes great with a clean crisp taste

9. 5. 2017, Pivopis, Ljubljana. Bottled. Possibly a good introductory beer to sour style. Not too up front but mildly tuned into the sourness and the complexity of this style. Interesting and repeatable although not my preference at all.
