COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Rodenbach Vintage is the unique result of selection by our Rodenbach brew masters, the barrel after two years of maturation has produced the best beer, "the best barrel of the year". The label is always the number of barrel stated and the year which marks the beginning of maturation.

Rodenbach Vintage is 100% matured old beer, resulting in superior Rodenbach Grand Cru. Its taste is complex, round, intense and refreshing. Typically, the apple tart fruitiness combined with caramel, wild honey and oak with a hint of vanilla, cherry and licorice. Its aroma has hints of caramel and oak, as well as notes of green apples mixed with honey and chocolate. The soft sour, fruity aftertaste is long and nicely balanced like a grand cru wine.

Ingredients: water, barley malt, corn, hops.

My first sour ale. As a fairly new customer, it appearsI don’t have the taste ready for that. Although, I bought a few to revisit this beer strongly recommended by two connoisseurs.

Tap at the Answer. Reddish Brown with thin head. Nice sour vinegar aroma. Tart. Nice.

(Vintage 2014) clear ruby red beer with head that disappeared as quickly as it was Coke. Aroma has oak barrel, wooden notes, round ripe fruits and red berries with ending in cherry note. Taste starts with red berries, sour cherry and then wooden oak flavors pop up and the sourness increases in the end. Medium to full body and high fizzy carbonation. Still has a little rough edges, would be interesting to see how this would evolve through the years. If I would have patience for that sort of thing.

KraftowyJakup (330) - POLAND - APR 7, 2017

Almost clear deep purple color with a off white layer on top. Good intensity in the aroma. Medium + body and a soft carbonation level. Oily texture. Pleasant acidity and a fine mellow sweetness. Vinegar, cherries and oak are dominating the flavor. Nice tasty evening sipper. Probably a bit to much vinegar. 2013 version.
[Bottle at Humlekyllingene - March meeting 17]
