Rodenbach Vintage is the unique result of selection by our Rodenbach brew masters, the barrel after two years of maturation has produced the best beer, "the best barrel of the year". The label is always the number of barrel stated and the year which marks the beginning of maturation.

Rodenbach Vintage is 100% matured old beer, resulting in superior Rodenbach Grand Cru. Its taste is complex, round, intense and refreshing. Typically, the apple tart fruitiness combined with caramel, wild honey and oak with a hint of vanilla, cherry and licorice. Its aroma has hints of caramel and oak, as well as notes of green apples mixed with honey and chocolate. The soft sour, fruity aftertaste is long and nicely balanced like a grand cru wine.

Ingredients: water, barley malt, corn, hops.

Thx to Ungstrup for sharing. Light unclear medium red color with a average to large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to light heavy cherry, sweet cherry, wood, light cask wood, vanilla notes. Flavor is ligt heavy sweet and light to moderate acidic with a long to average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20091114]

75 cL bottle. Pours cloudy dark orange with a huge and light tan head. Aroma is fruity, light acetone and sweetish. Sweet malty and mild citric flavoured. Slight phenolic and dry malty with milky base flavoured. Somewhat sweet into the finish, yet with a growing acetone dryness and bite. Dry and acetone lasting impression once the initial sweetness has declined.

750 ml bottle courtesy of CaptainCougar, thanks very much! Sickeningly sweet, lacks the true character of the Rodenbach of old. Best skipped.
