Rodenbach Vintage is the unique result of selection by our Rodenbach brew masters, the barrel after two years of maturation has produced the best beer, "the best barrel of the year". The label is always the number of barrel stated and the year which marks the beginning of maturation.

Rodenbach Vintage is 100% matured old beer, resulting in superior Rodenbach Grand Cru. Its taste is complex, round, intense and refreshing. Typically, the apple tart fruitiness combined with caramel, wild honey and oak with a hint of vanilla, cherry and licorice. Its aroma has hints of caramel and oak, as well as notes of green apples mixed with honey and chocolate. The soft sour, fruity aftertaste is long and nicely balanced like a grand cru wine.

Ingredients: water, barley malt, corn, hops.

I liked it. Maybe I even loved it. But it lacked the intensity and the complexity of its non-vintage siblings. Maybe the 2007 is just a hair too old now? I don’t know... But at almost twice the price of the standard grand cru it is a bit insipid. Yes, same oak tartness, same fresh strawberry sweetness, same malt and vinegar and it sounds great. Dark copper pour, small head, all the right stuff. But at twice the price, with a little less complexity, it was a disappointment. Dinged it a point for the price.

Vintage 2015, beczka 195. Vintage 2013 znacznie lepszy.

2012 version.
Aroma: solvent (but not intensive), some red fruits, aroma isn't very intensive.
Taste: sweet, raspberry, red currant, sour cherry, average to high sourness in aftertaste.
Beer is generally balanced, delicate, polite.
Carbonation is low. Head is weak.

Intensive aroma of wine vinegar, sour, dried fruits, apple. Pronounced red color without head. There are berries, small sourness with sweetness. Light body, light carbonation.

Drożdże, owoce, estry i ocet w aromacie, trochę czuć też beczki.

Bottle from Lcbo shared with Seb A: red fruits, acetic, a touch of balsamic vinegar, alcohol, licorice. App: clear dark copper border brown no head. T/p: med body with quite long acidic finish. O: nice complexity with good balsamic flavour. There's a touch of acetone but nothing too much. Nothing something I would drink daily but a good session closer.

750ml bottle. Pours clear reddish brownish colour, nice yellowish head stays. Lots of caramelly fruits, some woodiness, vinegar, sourness in aroma. Taste is sour, acidic, woody, lots of fruits here, berries, plums. More vinegary notes in aftertaste, woody tannin dry finish. Medium + bodied, quite lively carbo. Very interesting and well balanced brew, really nice to pair with different food. Good!
