Rodenbach Vintage is the unique result of selection by our Rodenbach brew masters, the barrel after two years of maturation has produced the best beer, "the best barrel of the year". The label is always the number of barrel stated and the year which marks the beginning of maturation.

Rodenbach Vintage is 100% matured old beer, resulting in superior Rodenbach Grand Cru. Its taste is complex, round, intense and refreshing. Typically, the apple tart fruitiness combined with caramel, wild honey and oak with a hint of vanilla, cherry and licorice. Its aroma has hints of caramel and oak, as well as notes of green apples mixed with honey and chocolate. The soft sour, fruity aftertaste is long and nicely balanced like a grand cru wine.

Ingredients: water, barley malt, corn, hops.

Pours slightly hazy reddeish brown under an average off-white head. Tart vinous fruit aroma. The flavor is slightly sour, not nearly as much as I expected. Plenty of underlying sweetness.

’t is wijn! Uniek!

2011 edition, barrel no. 95. Red beer with almost no had. Aromas of red cherries, sour notes, lots of fruits. Sour and sweet, very fruity and complex. A bit tannic aftertaste. Very good. And very drinkable.

Vynikající Rodenbach, pro mě druhá zkušenost s tímto pivovarem. Vynikající sladkokyselá chuť, ovocné aroma a velmi jemná pěna.

UPDATED: AUG 15, 2017 Smagt på Bistro Bruut i Brügge, Belgien. Syrlig aroma med masser af rød frugt. Stor fylde med et flot spil mellem sødme, syre og frugt.

[2012] Brown colour, nice white head. Aroma of caramel, vanilla, red fruits, honey. Very complex, but not so intensive. Taste is even better. Sour, vinegar, fruity with wine accents. So woody in aftertaste. A little bit of caramel and honey also appears. Very refreshing. Complex. Full body, middle - high carbonation. Great one!

Brown color, mediums sized beige head. Vinous and tart aromas of cherries, gooseberries, wood and vineagar. Sour and vinous taste of tart gooseberries, sour cherries, wood and acidic hints. Pretty good but the sour taste/finish makes it hard for me to really appreciate the underlying flavors.

[2013] Pours red with light off-white head. Aroma is oak barrels, cherries, sourish, acidic, berries, pickled strawberries, vinegar, wooden chips. Taste is oak, oak barrels, some sweet berries, strawberry, vinegar, light watery, warming, old cellar. Very nice beer!

Bottle - 750ml (2014). Cloudy brown body with an average off-white foamy head. Rich malty/hoppy aroma with fruity and oaky hints. Alcohol is well hidden. Its robust, complex taste carries oaky, fruity, and nutty notes. Ends with a long, strong, sour finish. Excellent Flemish sour ale.

2013 - Similar to Rodenbach Grand Cru with deiiferences. More residual sweetness and a bit less complex on the pallate.

[Vintage 2014] 750ml bottle with cork and cage from LCBO. Pours a one finger frothy beige head, good retention. Has a dark amber appearance with ruby highlights. Somewhat excessive carbonation. Weak lacing. Aromas of toasted malts, smoky, spices. Flavours are abundant with dark fruits, plums, raisins, some notes of berries. Quite a bit of sourness on the palate. Full bodied. Slightly tarty in the finish. Sort of a fizzy mouthfeel.
