dmschefke (576) - Macomb, Michigan, USA - MAR 15, 2009
UPDATED: MAR 21, 2009 Pours a chocolate amber with a small tan head. Aroma strong of tart fruits, mostly cherries. Taste is as tart as the aroma with hints of caramel and that oak zing. Felt like I was drinking a fruit cider, which was a bit disappointing, because I wanted a sour ale. A nice go-to ale when that is what I am looking for though. I will have to try this again to make sure this is what it is supposed to taste like.

Unusually in can from Bradleys in Cork. Pour red winy, with slight sour tart, but easy drinking and refreshing. No problem with the can.

0.25 l bottle from Pivoteka, Zagreb. Shared with lovely Anja. Clear reddish-brown, dark amber, small off-white head. Fruity aroma, vinegar, sour fruit, dusty. Winelike sourness, grapes, wine barrel. Light bod soft to medium carbonation, lasting finish, sweet, toasty, barrel. An interesting light beer.

Fairly clear dull brown with little head. Aroma is vinous, red fruit, horse blanket, sour cherries or plums, tart. Taste is tart but a bit watery, notes of caramel taste but not sweetness. Not very sour, not very flavorful. Not very anything, really. It is refreshing though.

Rood/bruin achtige kleur. Aroma is wat wijnazijn en rode wijnachtig. Smaak is wat zurig(azijn) met wat wijn, en een licht bittere afdronk.

Look: clear dark mahagony, stable beige head. Aroma: sweet wine, brett, sherry. Taste: light to moderate sour, subtle sweetness. Less sweet then Grand Cru. Flavour: dried sour cherries, wine, cheap vinegar. Good.

Bottle. Mahogany color, with tiny tan head. Aroma of cherry, vinegar and sour apples. Dry taste of cherries, apples and with a semi bitter and soapy finish. Probarely not my favorite style.
