Home. 33 cl bottle. BB 18.02.17. I’m drinking the alias: Doesburgs Dubbel. This looks like a different beer with 8,5% ABV , 35 IBU and 40 EBC.A good brown foam layer on an amber coloured clear beer. Aroma is coming from dark malt. Is sweet/caramel with light coffee. Taste is dark malt, sweet with somewhat chocolate. Light bitter from the hops and malt. Also some red fruit. Full body. Seet sticky.

Zlotta (3278) - Hagen / Düsseldorf, GERMANY - JUN 4, 2016
0.33 l bottle from ’Stadsslijterij Groenmarkt Zutphen’ as ’Oud Zutphens Dubbel’ at 7.5% abv, best before February 2018. Clear, deep red with a thin, slightly creamy, almost stable, beige head. Sweetish-malty, a bit roasty and slightly spicy aroma of caramel, chocolate and faint hints of dark ripe fruits. Sweet, malty, quite roasty and slightly spicy taste of chocolate, caramel and hints of overripe fruits and licorice, followed by a medium long, slightly bitter, a bit yeasty-spicy finish. Medium to full body, creamy mouthfeel, soft to average carbonation. Quite chocolaty for a Dubbel, hardly any kind of fruit detectable, but quite tasty nevertheless.

[email protected] Amber colour, small beige head. Aroma is fruity, some caramel, burnt sugar and sour wooden notes. Flavour is fruity, sweet burnt sugar, a stinging alcohol to it. Balanced, but on the slightly too sweet to be relly enjoayble side.

33 cl bottle @ Sankt Hans Tasting, Ulfborg.
My 7000th rating - f*ck the milestones edition!
Aroma has hayish malt, nuts, some gooseberry bush and some butterscotch. Also some toffee candy. Flavour has minerals, some menthol, butterscotch and mint. Also hints of raisins. Not that much dubbel-like, but then again this is a Dutch dubbel anyway.

MonsterMagnet (1444) - NETHERLANDS - FEB 14, 2015
UPDATED: FEB 16, 2015 Bottle, batch DUB-258, bb 10-2016. Pours ruby red with an off white head. Aroma: toffee, vanilla, clove, nutmeg. Taste: cranberries, elderberries, citrus, nuts, toffee. Medium body, light sweet, medium bitterness, average carbonation, oily texture. Slightly sour and fairly bitter finish (for a dubbel). This reminds me a lot of a toned down version (body and alcohol wise) of the later b(r)ok-in-de-keel. Likable beer, but not quite what I expect of a dubbel.

Bottle @ home. Very hazy to opaque brown color, average sized beige head. Smell and taste malts, some caramel, slightly earthy, figs. Average body and carbonation. Ok beer.
