Thin brown head. Very dark pour. Great baltic porter! Excellent beer JorisPPattyn (10062) - BELGIUM - AUG 18, 2012
Small dark orange-tan head over virtually black beer. Smoked, smoked wood, salty, dark malts, even smoked mackerel. Smoked in the flavour as well, woody, bitter chocolate, burning logs. Very well-bodied, viscous, warming & rewarding. I’m impressed! This ranks easily amongst the best porters I’ve ever tasted. tderoeck (10002) - Gent, BELGIUM - AUG 31, 2012

Clear very dark brown to almost black beer, aery beige to brown head, pretty stable, non adhesive. Aroma: mocha, coffee, caramel, dusty, some dried fruits, bit of smoke. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: coffee, dark chocolate, mocha, dried fruits, caramel, bit sweet. Aftertaste: dry hoppy, coffee, overripe fruits, cocoa powder, bit sugary, more coffee, dark chocolate.
Bottle from ABC Beers, Den Haag. Poured a deep mahogany colour with a broken tan head. The aroma is dry malt leading to a strong bitter flavour with liqourice and coffee on the palate. This was a whole lot better than I was expecting. The liqourice bitterness is smooth, well controlled and far from overpowering.

Bottle from Bierkoning. Jet black with a decent tan head and moderate carbonation. Massive aroma of charred malts, seas slat and bitter chocolate. Full, almost oily mouth feel, with more chocolate, salts and a dry finish. Unusual and very good. Svesse (8731) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - SEP 7, 2013
(Bottle, Arendsnest, Amsterdam, 26 July 2013) Black colour with foamy, brown head. Malty, roasted nose with espresso, dark chocolate, soy sauce and liquorice. Malty, roasted taste with notes of liquorice, soy sauce, black rye bread, hints of ashes, oak wood and a certain roasty bitterness in the finish. Almost full body, with balanced sweetness. Complex, tasty and well balanced stout. Very nice. kraddel (8721) - Antwerp, BELGIUM - AUG 16, 2014

Bottle traded with Borresteijn. Thanks a bunch! As my rating no. 4500. It pours pitch black with a creamy tan head. The aroma is hard roasted malt, light peat, liquorice and bitter coffee. The flavour is roasted and bitter with strong notes of liquorice and bitter coffee. Long bitter roasted finish. Very nice.
