Excellent porter style. Combines soft bitterness with tasts of dark coffee and bitter chocolate. Beautiful dark colour in the glass. Accompanies very well with very bitter chocolate or chocolat desserts.

UPDATED: JAN 24, 2017 Zwart als de nacht. Compacte crmekleurige schuimkraag. Behoorlijk wat carbonatie. Rokerig aroma. Smaken van chocolade, rook, leer, toast, mout, koffie. Licht bitter-zoete afdronk. Zeer goed over heel de lijn. Misschien iets te veel koolzuur maar dat is dan ook het enige (kleine) minpuntje.

Nearly black, brown head. Dark dried fruits, chocolate, coffee, burned sugar aromas. Flavor is rich and full, roasty, espresso, cocoa, nice dark fruits. Good stuff!

Small dark orange-tan head over virtually black beer. Smoked, smoked wood, salty, dark malts, even smoked mackerel. Smoked in the flavour as well, woody, bitter chocolate, burning logs. Very well-bodied, viscous, warming & rewarding. Im impressed! This ranks easily amongst the best porters Ive ever tasted.

bottle sampled @ GBF 2012 // black with a solid mocha head // nose is sweet, chocolate, chocolate truffles, mocha, dried dark fruits, serious roast layered on top of it all, toffee, dark sugar // taste is very bitter cocoa, seriously roasted, black chocolate, dark sugar, dried dark fruits, reasonably creamy parts, bitter ground coffee beans // creamy but not heavy body // neat stuff

Pours a beautiful black beer with a good brown head. Smells coffee, chocolate and a bit milkey and burn. I love the taste. Absolutely great. Heavy coffee. Burned. Thick body with a sticky texture. Good fitting carbo. Great beer!

Black with a small cappuccino head. Light smoke and roast malt aroma. Similar flavour. The burnt malts deliver a long lasting bitter finish.
