Pours an average frothy off-white head that mostly diminishes. Body is hazy, amber colored and with sparkles visible.
Aroma contains moderate malts (light bread, cookie, straw, molasses), light hops (orange, lemon), light yeasts (horse blanket, leather) and mainly sweet dried fruits like raisin, grape, cherry, apple and cassis.
Flavor is light acidic, then quite sweet and finishing harsh bitter and a bit boozy.
Body is medium to full with syrupy texture and soft carbonation. Unbalanced, it's ok up to the finish which is too harsh. maeib (8749) - Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, ENGLAND - SEP 20, 2006
Bottled - LCRBM2 - A muddy brown coloured beer. The aroma is yeasty with brown fruits. The taste is a little too harsh. Candy sugar and yeast notes in disharmony. harrisoni (18578) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - SEP 19, 2006
Low Countries Ratebeer Meeting 2. Cloudy brown colour with no head. Sour woody aroma, some fruit, but not wonderful and too woody for me. skortila (5873) - Baarn, NETHERLANDS - SEP 15, 2006
[2nd Low Countries RateBeer Meeting] Malty, butter aroma. Hazy, orange-brown coloured with a lasting, medium head. Taste is sweet, malty and fruity. Unimpressive. bierkoning (13352) - La Tropica/Doarp, NETHERLANDS - SEP 13, 2006
