I don’t know what happened with this beer, but this the worst beer I’ve ever tasted, even though I’ve tasted some really nice beers from Rodenburg. The terra incognita didn’t score well in my opinion, but this one smells like medicinal toothpaste. Lacks in any carbonation, only the appearance is ok. Really don’t know what has happened to this beer, but this shouldn’t be sold in the 1st place. This seems not due to any infection, but there should have been some more quality control here, and that’s unfortunate in this case.
375 bottle @ home, 2 years after the expiration date (Nov. 2014). Brown color with a red hue. No head to speak of. Aroma’s: spices, alcohol, sweet, light whiskey, ripe apples. Retronasal it’s sweet, sweet fruit, ginger, spices, alcohol, light bourbon. Flavor is moderate sweet, fruity. Hot alcohol feel. Medium to full bodied. Low carbonation. Finishes light bitter, light woody. Not bad. Borresteijn (6969) - Zaandam, NETHERLANDS - FEB 24, 2016
33cl Bottle from the brewery. Clear copper amber colour, no real head. Aroma of vanilla, oak, coconut, alcohol / solvent, cardamon, hint of raisins, light minty. Flavour is medium sweet, malty, spicy, cardamon, herbal, oak, wood, a bit of solvent, herbal and almost nasty bitter finish. Medium to full bodied. A lot better than the over - spiced base beer. Bottle. Copper color. Really sweet aroma of caramel, vanilla, toffee and raisinny malt. Taste is quite sweet as well, with raisin, vanilla, caramelised malt, booze and a little iron. Not bad. tricksta_p (4560) - Steenwijk, NETHERLANDS - JAN 21, 2015
Aroma of malt, caramel, sweet dried fruit, apricots, some vanilla, wood, bourbon, herbal notes. Flavour is moderate sweet with a hint of sourness and a light bittersweet finish. Slightly boozy, but also relatively easily drinkable. Quite delicious Barley Wine. RexTalionis (3728) - FINLAND - JAN 4, 2015
Bottle. Unclear orange with a small head. Vanilla light spicyness, creamy apricots and malty sweetness in aroma. Some brown sugary and vinous vibes as well. Vanilla, some christmas spicyness, malty sweetness and syrup liqour in taste. Some herbal notes and bit of filling nuttyness in finish. A sipper this one. Soft though and even if there’s that certain vinous vibe all over, it feels quite easy to drink and works well as a winter warmer.

Light haze on this deep amber beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is light and semi dry with fine carbonation. Smooth malts, nice sweetish mellow bourbon and soft oaky sweetness. Light brett runs throughout, as does a lovely touch of sweet cherry. The brett turns slightly bitter before the smooth finish. Tasty and complex, it hides the abv pretty well.
Bottle 33 cl. Brewing nr. T.I.B.A.-135. Amber coloured beer with quickly vanishing frothy head. Aroma of wood and bourbon. Taste is boozy, barley and sweet fruit.
