Gigantophis was once a beast that could swallow you whole. But fast forward 40 million years and the roles are reversed. Like its prehistoric namesake, there is nothing small about Gigantophis Imperial IPA. We used 2 1/2 pounds of hops per barrel to achieve over 100 IBU in this 9% monster. Bursting with citrus, pine and earthy notes in the aroma and flavor, Gigantophis finishes with a touch of French oak to round out the whole experience. Hop lovers and paleontologists unite! This is the journey you have been waiting for. Ideally served at 50 - 55F.

Bottled sample from Specks in San Antonio. Holy bitterness. Should have read the IBU rating. Lots of hops. Little citrus. Not my kind of beer but appreciated it.

This was a very nice beer. Aroma pleasant but subdued with a slight metallic fragrance. Taste very complex...strong citrus, apricot, earth, wood on a nice smooth malt backbone. Finish clean ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Ulfborg weekend celebration of nothing in particular. Hazy amber with a small white head. Aroma of malt, citrs hops and plenty of diacetyl. Sweet malty flavour with toffee and diacetyl, citrus hops and a quite bitter finish

Bottle, 22oz. A dense, light beige head of moderate size forms over a clear, amber body. Theres a light vanilla touch in the aroma, but its mostly hoppy scents in there. Cheesy hints, pine cones, some citrus zest and a solid dose of malts as well. Its quite full-bodied, a tad too sweet, with a nice carbonation. Citrus peel, pine cones and a touch of cheesy notes in the flavor. Lots of bitterness, stretching into the very end. But still not enough compared to the sweetness from the malts. Decent, nothing more. 131123
