Bottle at the Big Texas Beer Fest. Poured a light reddish-brown with a white head. Taste of smoke, ash, rubber, and burnt malts. Medium carbonation medium body. WAY too smoked for the style. Faint to non-existent aroma. Dark brown sugar color. Medium to light weight with typical carbonation. Flavors were light at best. You could tell it was a Scotch ale but the caramel sweetness was light as was the slightly burnt and woody character. Not terrible but didn’t stand out either.

Bottle. Pours dark brown with ruby hues and beige head. Aroma is very peaty with a hint of smoke. Flavor is a smokey, peaty bomb....as to this day, the strongest I have encountered with notes of toffee and malt in the back ground, has some sweetness. Medium body with medium-high carbonation. Draught at Jack Mac’s - cloudy ruby brown, fine offwhite almost pinkish bubbles. Nose of raisin, sweet malt, light peat, brown sugar, and bits of green apple. Deep brown with a decent sized cream colored head. Aroma is of chocolate, peat, campfire, light ash, and toffee. Taste is of peat, smoke, leather, roasted malt, light vinegar, and caramel.
