Smells like plastic. Dark mahogany color. Tastes like roasted malt and burned plastic. Palate too light of a mouth feel for a scottish ale.
Shared 22 oz. bottle. Pours brown with a thick, persistent beige head. Aroma of sweet malt. Taste is malt, brown sugar, caramel, peat, and wood. Finish is sweet and mildly smoky. darbeer75 (902) - Round Rock, Texas, USA - SEP 25, 2016
Aroma: malty and perhaps a little earthy; Appearance: very dark amber with medium off white head that dissipates slowly; Taste: very malty but not overwhelmingly sweet; not much complexity; Palate: heavy body with long, sweet finish; Overall: acceptable but not something I would get again. Bottle at the Big Texas Beer Fest. Poured a light reddish-brown with a white head. Taste of smoke, ash, rubber, and burnt malts. Medium carbonation medium body. WAY too smoked for the style. This wouldn’t even be a good smoked if it was in that style either. Cavie (4717) - Arlington, Texas, USA - APR 12, 2015
Enjoyed at BTBF 2015. Light cloudy amber color. Carmel sweet aroma. Light peat smoke flavor, malty with a simple finished. kevinator (2205) - The Colony, Texas, USA - NOV 24, 2014
Faint to non-existent aroma. Dark brown sugar color. Medium to light weight with typical carbonation. Flavors were light at best. You could tell it was a Scotch ale but the caramel sweetness was light as was the slightly burnt and woody character. Not terrible but didn’t stand out either.

Poured a medium to dark garnet. No head. More hops in the mouth then should be for this style. This brewery is very hit and miss. This was a miss. gringo332 (640) - Richardson, Texas, USA - JUN 14, 2014
Bottle. Pours dark brown with ruby hues and beige head. Aroma is very peaty with a hint of smoke. Flavor is a smokey, peaty bomb....as to this day, the strongest I have encountered with notes of toffee and malt in the back ground, has some sweetness. Medium body with medium-high carbonation. Overall, I really dig this beer! wchesser (2074) - Denver, Colorado, USA - FEB 5, 2014
Bottle from Errl. Thanks! Pretty mahogany brown. Peaty smoke dominates nose. Astringent peat, honey, malt. Interesting, much smoker than I expected. Different but not great representation of the style. thirdeye11 (6160) - Dallas, Texas, USA - JAN 6, 2014
Draught at Jack Mac’s - cloudy ruby brown, fine offwhite almost pinkish bubbles. Nose of raisin, sweet malt, light peat, brown sugar, and bits of green apple. Taste is very bandaid forward, peat, smoke, sweet malt, most of the good characteristics from the nose, palate linger is also a bit undesirable. jkwalking05 (4735) - Arlington, Texas, USA - NOV 29, 2013
Deep brown with a decent sized cream colored head. Aroma is of chocolate, peat, campfire, light ash, and toffee. Taste is of peat, smoke, leather, roasted malt, light vinegar, and caramel.
