On tap at the Green Dragon. Pours a very cloudy dark brown color with a small white head. The aroma is big sweet barrel and some vanilla. The flavor is similarly dominated by rich whiskey alcohol notes, vanilla, leather, very sweet malty Barley Wine esq. base. Pretty good. Dark purple to brown. Nose is very sweet. Lots of oak and raisins. Tons of raisins in taste and brown sugar. Incredible malt overpowering lots of bitterness. Intense and not easy to drink a lot of Salmoniform (1281) - Sweet Home, Oregon, USA - OCT 13, 2013
Poured from tap to glass. Nice brown with tan head that dissipated fairly quickly. Aroma is huge malt, caramel, slightly floral, vanilla, and wood. Medium bodied with a nice mouthfeel. Lightly carbonated with sweetness up front and light-bitterness following. Wood is evident but not yet fully melded together. This is a good brew right now and all the elements are there to be great, but could probably use a bit more time in the cellar in order for everything to marry together. Poured a dark brown with a thin tan head, which dissipated quite quickly. Aroma of dark fruit, syrup, grains and dark rum. Toffee and molasses sweetness with some dryer grain notes. Ends with coffee, boiled sweets and residual alcohol.
Pours clear deep reddish amber with low light tan head. Aroma of cherries, brown sugar, resin hops, grapefruit. Taste is astringent bitter with just hints of sweetness in the background. Body is medium to full and slick with soft carbonation.

Sample at Rogue Ales Distillery & Public House. Pours a murky dark brown color with a thin off-white head that disappears quickly. Small patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of dark fruit, toffee and malt. Full-bodied with flavors of plums, toffee, chocolate and oak. The finish is slightly boozy with a lingering dark fruit and oak aftertaste. Solid beer all around. trujahwarrior (515) - Monroe, Washington, USA - MAY 20, 2013
UPDATED: JUN 4, 2013 On tap at the Issaquah Brewhouse pours a muddy dark brown color with a decent off white head that leaves good lacing. Smells of chocolate, toffee, caramel, molasses, dark fruit and oak. Tastes like of all the same things in the smell and the oak is more apparent in the taste. Mouthfeel is heavy and oily with pretty good carbonation. Overall this was a really well done barrel aged strong ale. Everything was well balanced and the flavors all work well together. pdx77 (1483) - Oregon, USA - APR 7, 2013
On draught at Rogue Public House in Portland. Served in XS goblet. Dark brownish black color. Boozy, oaky aroma. Smokey, dark chocolate taste with hint of the woodsy oak aging. Finishes with a sticky (in a good way) sweet espresso aftertaste. troopie (2459) - Munchen an der Willamette, Oregon, USA - MAR 10, 2013
They’ve made a dark barley wine. Lekker aroma, malt and fruit with a barrel tone. Malty flavour with no alcohol burn. Barrel notes. BTW I was told that the barrel had never held anything else, it is fresh oak. Malty finish. Worth drinking if you find it.
