I have just finished writing a lament in my last review about an attempt by a mainstream brewer to enter the craft market with the common denominator ethos regarding flavour. It just doesn’t work. As a panacea to my malaise, I reached for two of the hoppiest things I could find. This being one: A lovely rosy gold colour with a determined white fluffy head that left good lace around the glass. Aromas of Seville orange marmalade, tangerine, orange blossom and pine amber. Smells good enough to eat, or at the very least, smear on your toast. Good carbonation and then the beginnings, middle and more middle of hoppy bitterness. Again it is an expression of the citrussy arts with a few cameos of apricot flesh. The bitterness was actually fairly soft on the palate leaving me wondering why it is called Brutal at all? It isn’t. It is like a gorgeous long-limbed strawberry-blonde beauty cavorting in a field in a long summery dress picking flowers and chasing butterflies. Brutal it is not. Tasty it is.

From a 22 oz bottle into a chalice. Pours semi cloudy amber gold with head and lace. Aroma of floral hops, pale malts, straw hops, funky fruit zest. Medium carbonation and mouthfeel. Flavors of melon rind, straw hops, grains, minerals, pale malt, caramel. Overall rich, flavorful...somewhat challenging but decent.

(Bottle) Pours hazy amber brown with good slightly off white head. Nice aroma of stone fruit and toffee. Great palate - medium body with good carbonation. Great taste too, and not brutal. There's a very good backbone of sweet toffee malt. This is overlaid but a combination of hop flavours from tangy stone fruit to bitterness. Nicely balanced.

From Dec 2005 Poured from bottle(room temp) with a quickly diminishing head. The beer is a cloudy medium gold. The smell is a wonderful mix of hops and malt...you can just about taste the beer from the aroma alone and you *know* it's gonna be good. The taste is a wonderful balance of the sweetness and bitterness with the hops taking over in the aftertaste and leaving me wanting more.. That's how drinkable this brew is. A *must* try if you see it in your local store.

Bottle from Pivný raj. Hazy amber with white head. Sweet hoppy aroma. Taste is mixture of hops, bitterness, something sweet and coffee beans. Good.

Bottle at home. Cloudy orange color, white head, looks good. A good ipa, with a good taste.

Citrus (orange) and apricot jam notes in the nose. Feels sweet. Taste is sweet, like the smell, yeasty and with caramel notes. Grassy hops, bitter herbs. Medium bodied, dry, bitter finish. Too sweet, but nice nonetheless.

Flaska bishops Örebro. Gulorange vätska. Mustig doft av torkad frukt, barr och citrusskal. Relativt tung maltig smak med barr, citrus och övermogna äpplen. Fyllig munkänsla med bra beska.
