COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
After the death of his wife, Henry Jackson Smart was left to raise his 6 young children alone. His courage, love, selflessness and dedication inspired his daughter, Sonora Smart Dodd, to organize the first Father’s Day on June 19th, 1910. In 1924 President Calvin Coolidge proclaimed the third Sunday in June as Father’s Day. President Nixon, in 1972, established it as a permanent day of national observance.

Dad’s Little Helper Black IPA is deep mahogany in color with roasted malt and hop aromas and dense creamy head. It enters the palate with intense hop flavor and coats the tongue with a rich maltiness from the Rogue Farms Risk Malt.

Standard 22oz Rogue single. Wow, so this is a strong beer, right? If you’re looking for your taste buds to tingle, look no further. This beer isn’t for chumps, so put on your seatbelt. They cranked up the volume on the taste profile to "11". Another winner from rogue.

Bottle. Pours clear black with a medium, frothy light tan head, medium-long retention with excellent lacing. Aroma is pine, perfume, and resin hops with light soap notes; roast and chocolate malt with plum and fig notes. Flavor is heavy hops and bitterness, bitter roasted malt, nearly acrid with dark fruity esters and a dry, lightly astringent finish. Medium body and carbonation.

gnoff (10506) - Mölndal, SWEDEN - AUG 26, 2012
Draught at The Rover, on August 25, 2012
Dark brown to black color, huge tan lasting creamy head. Malty, bitter, fruity, grape taste. Bitter aftertaste. Spritzy mouthfeel, medium high bitterness. Fruity. Fruity, hoppy scent. Nice one, and I usually don’t tend to like Black IPA’s all that much.

3.7
Ungstrup (37677) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - AUG 25, 2012
Draft. A dark red beer with a lazing tan head. The aroma has notes of citrusy hops, bread, and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of hops, citrus fruits, caramel, and bread, leading to a very bitter finish.

Draught at the Fraunces Tavern, New York, NY. Dark reddish brown colour with small creamy off-white head. Mild roasted malt aroma with some notes of hoppy dryness and wood. Flavour is dry wood, liquorice and hoppy bitterness. Quite balanced. More grainy and roasted than bitter hoppy. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
