Dead Guy is a German-style Maibock made with Rogues proprietary "PacMan" ale yeast. It is deep honey in color with a malty aroma, rich hearty flavor and a well balanced finish. Dead Guy is created from Northwest Harrington, Klages, Maier Munich and Carastan malts, along with Perle and Saaz Hops.
In the early 1990s Dead Guy Ale was created as a private tap sticker to celebrate the Mayan Day of the Dead (November 1st, All Souls Day) for Casa U Betcha in Portland, Oregon. The Dead Guy design proved popular and was incorporated into a bottled product a few years later with MaierBock as the elixir.

UPDATED: JAN 2, 2017 Clead deep peach golden color with small tan foam. Aromas of tropical fruit type hops, youghurt and peach and floral notes. Palate, medium to full body with biting bitter texture leaving short dry finish. Taste, lighty bitter sweet of tropical fruits, more like not amazing IPA. Overall, okay beer, reminds more of IPA, quite hoppy still light though.

A rich golden light orange color with a thick creamy head of white foam. The aroma and flavor is balanced impeccably between sweet cereal grain, light roasted malt, fresh florals, and lightly sweet blend of stone fruits and hints of berries.

Had a pint at Pub Italia. Arrived with very minimal head, and leaves a thin ring around inside glass. Has a dark amber colour appearance. Weak lacing. Aromas are mostly of roasted malts and a bit of yeast. Flavours are also of the roasted malt variety, with spices and hops readily apparent. Hints of caramel. Has a good balance of hops and malts actually. Mildly bitter aftertaste but not offensive. Average carbonation. Warming mouthfeel. Pretty good and lucky to try on tap. Held its flavour with the spicy italian sausage pasta I had with it.
