COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Dead Guy is a German-style Maibock made with Rogue’s proprietary "PacMan" ale yeast. It is deep honey in color with a malty aroma, rich hearty flavor and a well balanced finish. Dead Guy is created from Northwest Harrington, Klages, Maier Munich and Carastan malts, along with Perle and Saaz Hops.
In the early 1990s Dead Guy Ale was created as a private tap sticker to celebrate the Mayan Day of the Dead (November 1st, All Souls Day) for Casa U Betcha in Portland, Oregon. The Dead Guy design proved popular and was incorporated into a bottled product a few years later with MaierBock as the elixir.

Not bad, not bad at all. It’s all about balance here, I think - hoppy and malty, flavourful but not overpowering, boozy but drinkable. It deserves it’s reputation, and I don’t think I can add more than a hundred-and-one other commentators - it’s very nice!

Bottle from Drygate, Glasgow. Beer served in 7°C, Duvel Glass. Pours hazy golden, small but thick head, leaving hundreds of tiny bubbles on the glass. Aroma is sweet, peach, pears, caramel, candies, sweet malts, juicy, bready, fruity. Taste is sweet, marmalade, ashy, earthy, herbal, quite bitter, malty, creamy, preserved fruits. A little alcoholic but also different.

Bottle from drinkshop.sk Hmmm, okay, it's good, bit spicy, I admit nice malty bits and some caramel, but still I feel Germans do it bit better. Good drinking anyway.

An american, copper, foggy, Heller Bock with very low head. Aroma is caramel, raisin, bisquit, malt, light smoke? Light liqourice? Taste is bitter sweet. Pearly. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Aroma etwas muffig, fruchtig malzig. Geschmack dann positiv überraschend. Leicht fruchtig, kräftig, gut umspielter Alkohol und eine sanft zunehmende Bitterkeit die aber gut die Waage hält zu einer anhaltenden Malznote.

Tap at Glens bar Jerusalem. Jeezzzzz this stank of the nasty chemical water they give you to wash your mouth with at the dentist. So so medicinal and unpleasant. Probably the fault of the storage but anyway...can only rate what I get
