COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Dead Guy is a German-style Maibock made with Rogue’s proprietary "PacMan" ale yeast. It is deep honey in color with a malty aroma, rich hearty flavor and a well balanced finish. Dead Guy is created from Northwest Harrington, Klages, Maier Munich and Carastan malts, along with Perle and Saaz Hops.
In the early 1990s Dead Guy Ale was created as a private tap sticker to celebrate the Mayan Day of the Dead (November 1st, All Souls Day) for Casa U Betcha in Portland, Oregon. The Dead Guy design proved popular and was incorporated into a bottled product a few years later with MaierBock as the elixir.

Papsoe (25054) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - FEB 23, 2006
(Bottle 35,5 cl) Pours a hazy amber with a slight haze and a yellowish, creamy head. Malty nose with some caramel. Lovely, full body with loads of sweetish malt and some very dry bittering hops. Rather good and solid Bock - German style, but nowhere close to a Maibock as the label claims. 130206

Bernsteinfarbenes Bier mit geringer Schaumkrone. Geruch leicht röstmalzig süß, fruchtig malzig, Karamell. Geschmack sehr malzig süß, fruchtig, Karamell.

A nicely complex ale. Poured a reddish gold with a foamy head, which faded in minutes. Smelled of sweet malts. The taste was dynamic, ringing with traces of honey, molasses, and bread. Very smooth with a mildly yeasty afteraste. I enjoyed drinking this beer very much.

Clear amber with an off-white head. Aroma is malty and caramel. Flavor is quite sweet and moderate bitter. Bitter and dry finish with a little alcohol. 170609

Beautiful dark amber color. Ordinary aroma, with a hint of hop. The caramel dominates this beer, with some hidden quite good hopping.

Keg at Rogue, PDX Airport, 12/11/14. Hazed golden orange with a moderate off white swirl and edgeing. Nose is caramel, rich malt notes, nutty, candied sugars. Taste comprises caramel, dark fruit rinds, candyfloss, sweet notes. Medium body, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Ok stuff.

harrisoni (19548) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - OCT 7, 2005
650ml bottle from Morrisons. Dark orange clear beer with lasting beige head. Intense US hop nose with hints of chocolate limes. When I say hints I mean completely unsubtle flavours. Really nice in mouth, got good strong mouthfeel with malts and alcohol coming through. Then smooth choc lime finish with drying intense hoppiness. Superb with good lasting flavours

3.6
Oakes (19426) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - APR 7, 2005
Vibrant, hazy copper-amber colour. Earthy, caramelly aroma with faint woody notes. Rich, chewy, toffeeish character. Full body. Smooth malts, toasty and earthy. The cleanliness of rogue’s yeast makes a credible "bock" possible.
