COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Dead Guy is a German-style Maibock made with Rogues proprietary "PacMan" ale yeast. It is deep honey in color with a malty aroma, rich hearty flavor and a well balanced finish. Dead Guy is created from Northwest Harrington, Klages, Maier Munich and Carastan malts, along with Perle and Saaz Hops.
In the early 1990s Dead Guy Ale was created as a private tap sticker to celebrate the Mayan Day of the Dead (November 1st, All Souls Day) for Casa U Betcha in Portland, Oregon. The Dead Guy design proved popular and was incorporated into a bottled product a few years later with MaierBock as the elixir.

Strong sweet honey/malt aroma as the beer is poured in the glass, with what seems to be a bit of fruitiness from the hops. Clear copper brown, white head that dissipates fairly quickly. Sweet taste, get the honey/malt again as expected from the nose, almost no hop bitterness but a bit of hop flavor. Medium bodied. A bit of alcohol showing itself. OK beer.

From tap at Fermentoren Aarhus. Pours a clear orangy amber with a small off white head. Aroma has lots of heavy, sticky malts, caramel, banana, sweet overripe fruits. Taste is very very sweet, heavy malty and with a tiny bitterness that not even is close to balance this beer. Very intense for the 6,5%, but other than that i havent got a whole lot of good things to say..

UPDATED: JAN 2, 2017 Clead deep peach golden color with small tan foam. Aromas of tropical fruit type hops, youghurt and peach and floral notes. Palate, medium to full body with biting bitter texture leaving short dry finish. Taste, lighty bitter sweet of tropical fruits, more like not amazing IPA. Overall, okay beer, reminds more of IPA, quite hoppy still light though.
