COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Dead Guy is a German-style Maibock made with Rogue’s proprietary "PacMan" ale yeast. It is deep honey in color with a malty aroma, rich hearty flavor and a well balanced finish. Dead Guy is created from Northwest Harrington, Klages, Maier Munich and Carastan malts, along with Perle and Saaz Hops.
In the early 1990s Dead Guy Ale was created as a private tap sticker to celebrate the Mayan Day of the Dead (November 1st, All Souls Day) for Casa U Betcha in Portland, Oregon. The Dead Guy design proved popular and was incorporated into a bottled product a few years later with MaierBock as the elixir.

An excellent "maibock" (Rogue’s nomenclature), although a maibock is a LAGER, and for some unfathomable reason Rogue calls it an ale! Whatever it’s called, it is a winner.

Amber colour, small head that never fades completely, creamy lace. Aroma of caramel, nuts, spices, some hops that balance the malty flavour, chocolate. Medium body, creamy texture, carbonations is OK. Taste of caramel, dark fruits, nuts. Really good and easy drinking beer.

In der Nase deutliche Malzigkeit. Im Trunk definitiv bockig, Cookie, süffig, Karamell, Honig, leicht alkoholisch. Schönes Ding.

Copenhagen 2/7 2017. 35,5 cl bottle from Skjold Burne. Skeleton with mug of beer and a funny hat. Would fit right in at Day of the Dead or at an Grateful Dead gig. Pours hazy amber with small white head. Moderate Lacing. Settles as thin patch of foam floating around. Aroma has substantiel sweetness with honey, caramel and a nutty quality. Something sharp and sour lurking in the background. Medium carbonation and slightly thick palate. Flavor is strongly sweet followed by light bitterness. Aftertaste of honey and nuts. Sweet malty and nutty affair. But a nice affair when it’s comes to that.

12oz bottle. Hazy reddish orange, thin off white head. Malty fruity nose. Sweet malt flavors, dark fruit, cereal. Light hops on finish, but overall this is a malt show.
