PhilDBrewer (50) - Bloomington, Indiana, USA - MAR 22, 2013
Pours like motor oil. Thick, black, with minimal caramel colored head. Aroma is somewhat mild - sweet and chocolatey. Tastes of sweet chocolate and roasted malt. Very chocolatey. Thick, pleasant body, good mouthfeel. Very nice beer that I would seek out again.

Pours pitch black with a dark tan head. Potent chocolate in the aroma, along with some roasted malt, chocolate liqueur, honey and unroasted coffee. Big coffee and roasted malt flavours, with a little chocolate underneath and a hit of smooth booze. Could use more carbonation, seems a little flat.

UPDATED: AUG 9, 2014 Earthy chocolate aroma, light. Some barley, classic ale whiffs. Nice large tan head. Dark black color. Thick, but fuzzy. Dark chocolate taste...vanilla lingers somewhere in there as well. Excellent mouthfeel, despite the viscosity. Head fades, but thee is a lasting creamyness. Drank at room temp...might rate higher if a touch cooler. Original 3.16.13....update 8.9.14. 4 beer flight, on tap at ginger man, nyc. Tied for tops with the dogfather. Slight uptick, 4.3 to 4.4.

Dark, almost black. Has a light-brown head, medium duration. Heavy chocolate aroma, dark chocolate with faint notes of cocoa. Flavor starts with notes of dark chocolate, then heavy bitter and hoppy. Dry texture.

Zita (6317) - Assentoft, DENMARK - MAR 14, 2013
nice chocolate aroma, black, brown foam, medium sweetness, medium bitterness, medium body, creamy, soft carbonation, bitter, long finish.

Thanks 77ships! Hoppy Loft has this on tap. Poured a dark dark brown body with an off white head. The aroma is stunning, chocolate liqueur, pure cocoa, truffles... just stunning. The taste, on the other hand was slightly too light after that, dominated by cocoa, but never taking off. Glad to have tried it!

Marsiblursi (3076) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - MAR 12, 2013
(Draught) Pours black with a stable brown head. The aroma is all a bout sweet, fancy chocolate. The flavour is light sweet, medium bitter and tiny acidic. Tones of creamy chocolate, dark, light bitter malt and earthy, light woodsy hops. The mouthfeel is soft and creamy with a light tart sting from the hops. Chocolate and hops on the finish. Touch of black malt hints. Medium to full bodied.

On tap at Barcelona Beer Festival 2013. Small Pint (20cl). Pours a clear black colour with light brown head (darker than usual though). Very good looking. Dark chocolate, roasted malts, and hints of hops on the nose. So tasty: the dark chocolate goes along with vanilla notes, leaving behind a sweet sensation very well balanced by hops. No significant alcohol presence. Full bodied, good carbonation. Really chocolaty and nice!

Grifo. On-tap. ½ pt Glass. Enjoyed on mar´13. Pours pitch black headed by a brownish foam. Crown is creamy & lasting. Roasted malt, fudge chocolate & dried nut aromas. Creamy & malting sensation touched by dry bitterness. Full body. Soft to moderate carbonation. Sharp bitter cocoa in the middle gets along with dried nut astringency & linger into a long bitter finish. Chocolate hues on the aftertaste. ABV is shown by gentle warming sensation in the back. Very well balanced sweet vs bitter flavors.
