Oh stouty stouty stoutiness, I really love my stout. I don’t usually include points for packaging and I shan’t here, but it really is a striking looking bottle. The beer itself is as black as sin, but for the creamy looking mocha coloured head. The aroma isn’t massively complex like the last imperial stout I reviewed, but it is laced with charm: chocolate, cocoa butter, milo on milk (as any kiwi kid will tell you about), dusty Dutch cocoa it is a sensual symphony, an olfactory orgasm, an organoleptic orgy of charismatic chocolately wonder. Someone must have murdered Willy Wonka and thrown him in the boil and if he knew what his demise produced, I’m sure he died happy. The mouthfeel is of plentiful mousse and then those satisfying allusions to chocolate surge, rush and flow forward across the tongue with a good gripping dark chocolate bitterness. The finish is a lipsmacking kiss from a dusky maiden that leaves you delighted and reeling. As if Jessica Rabbit grabbed your face and planted a smacker on it, followed in turn by Halle Berry, Thandi Newton and Tyra Banks. It might be love. I may need a little lie down after this.

(750ml bottle). A nice surprise by Keg_Juggler. Pours a black-brown complexion with fluffy head and long-lasting lacing. Aroma of malt and alcohol. Flavor is chocolate malt and hops with alcohol noted. Decent body. Sadly, for the price, this is a five dollar beer in a ten dollar bottle. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at Burger in Aptos. Very dark brown with dark tan head. Sweet chocolate nose slightly malty. Smooth taste that was more of a bittersweet chocolate flavor. Medium bodied with a nice finish, not as boozy as expected. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bomber poured into snifter. Cola color mocha head, notes of bittersweet chocolate, nice balance of hop and bready malt, good but not exceptional ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Amazingly black, creamy, thick, and deep chocolate flavor. Good chocolate stout!!

This is about as close to perfect as you can get for a big heavy chocolate stout. I aged this one close to a year, and I’m glad I did. This beer is super heavy on the chocolate notes with some hints of coffee in it. Lasts a long time on the palate, and finishes very well. Highly recommend!

Drank from bomber poured into snifter at home. Aroma- strong cofee and sweet chocolate notes. Appearance- very dark oily liquid. Light head. Taste- fermented dark chocolate with cocoa/cofee notes. Delicious. Palate- a little more booze felt now. Good stuff though. Replacement dessert. Overall- pretty darn good chocolate stout. I think i may prefer sweet chocolate beers better

Bomber. Beautiful beer - thick deep black liquid with brown head. Deep chocolate flavor with lots of malt complexity. Really interesting beer that could double as a meal.

750ml Bottle. The pour was a thick deep dark black with a large (2-3 finger) medium cocoa brown creamy head that reduced slowly, down to a thick puddled film with a medium collar and produced absolutely great drippy sticky lacing. The aroma right up front was all about the chocolate with a bold roasted malt and a heavy doughy yeast along with notes of chocolate of course (dark and milk), roasted coffee and a slight hint of vanilla that was just barely noticeable. The taste was really fantastic with a nice thick maltiness and a milk chocolate sweetness from the get go, becoming a just tad bitter with a mild coffee presence and a big dose of bitter chocolate towards the finish. The flavor lasted for an extremly long time following the swallow, with the chocolate taste fading away and leaving behind a mild bitter roastiness to linger for a while longer. Mouthfeel was full in body with an exceptionally creamy texure and a soft carbonation. Overall this is one fantastic tasting brew!! It possesses a ton of roasty chocolate flavor along with a mild smooth bitterness, which together does an awesome job of totally concealing the high ABV, making this a very easy to drink and extremely enjoyable brew...

Pours a deep brown with a creamy tan head. Deep roasty aroma with pronounced chocolate notes. Silky mouthfeel. Flavor is malt, coffee, and of course bitter chocolate. Chocolate is strong without being cloying. An excellent stout overall.
