Pours pitch black with long lasting brown head. Aroma is chocolate cake. Pure, unadulterated chocolate cake. Taste is Portillos chocolate cake, Hersheys chocolate syrup, and a hint of coffee and hop bitterness to balance. Body is full, creamy, low carbonation, chocolatey slightly roasty finish. Overall, this is the best chocolate beer Ive ever had. Seriously tastes like a chocolate cake in a glass. If you like chocolate, buy this without hesitation.

Amazing. Best stout Ive ever drank. Roasty, malty, hints of hops, and perfect chocolaty aftertaste. Rogue has done its again...

This is by far the best chocolate stout I have ever tasted. Draft, poured into an American pint glass. Appearance: Opaque black with one finger of thick chocolate milk colored head. Aroma: A roasty cocoa and coffee scent. Taste: A strong semi-sweet chocolate flavor, with roasted coffee undertones. The after taste is exactly like that of semi-sweet chocolate chips. Palate: Thick and milky, leaves the mouth coated with a pleasant semi-sweet chocolate flavor. This is the tastiest beer I have had in a long time. I will definitely be buying some whenever I see it again.

On tap @ Man in the Moon, Stockholm. What an aroma, bitter chocolate taste and just a little little sweetness in the end. Perfect balance, awesome beer!

Jet black with a healthy tan foam head. Smells and tastes like delicious chocolate. Has a light bitter and creamy finish. Excellent.

My taste in beer has really evolved in the last two years since Ive been on ratebeer and started trying different beers. I used to hate stouts because of the roast flavor but stouts can be so diverse and different. The aroma is Chocolate and light roast malt. If you close your eyes it smells just like a cup of mocha coffee. First taste is sweet, roast and chocolate. The finish is a little bit bitter but Chocolate still lingers. Top 3 for me!

Wow, a chocolate beer that tastes like chocolate? Sadly, most dont. Rogue has really outdone themselves with their double chocolate stout. It captures the chocolate liquor flavor and bittersweet chocolate aroma amazingly well. Appearance is inviting with a chocolate color and dark tan head. Palate is very full and smooth with a thin, wet finish. Taste is mildly sweet, lots of chocolate liquor and a moderately bitter hops finish. Overall, this is one amazing beer. I would prefer a tad sweeter, as I like to drink it alone for dessert. Still, one of the best beers Ive had considering that it delivers what others beers have promised but fallen short of before (ommegang chocolate indulgence, im looking at you).

Yep I finially did it gave a perfect rating. My first beer ever. I have had this beer in my cellar for two years. I have been a little scared of it from time to time. But what the hell its Christmas and a big wonderful steak to drink it with. Lets do this- Look. One of the darkestest I have ever seen. It seems like it lumped out of the bottle. It looked amazing. The head was the darkest I have ever seen. It looked like a normal stout head that got burnt a little. Head lasted 2 finger high for at least 4-5 min. Smell- Carmel at first which moved towards chocolate and cocco. It smelled just like a Hersey syrupe mixed chocolate milk. You know the type you made after school groaning up. Taste- milk chocolate with a smooth Carmel. Starts with a alcohol bite at first that rolls into honey and milk. Pure joy. The taste is of a strong stout with a pleasant sweetness. Butter. Feel- yep a full meal in a glass. Thick heavy and smooth. Overall. Top5 beer of all-time todate. Yes first 5 across...best stout I have ever had. Damn you rogue. I want to hate you after the way yourcrewtreated me and my family in Newport this summer on our family vacation. Serious I try to find ways to hate them but2 of 5 favorite beers come from them. Great beer
