Pours a deep brown with a creamy tan head. Deep roasty aroma with pronounced chocolate notes. Silky mouthfeel. Flavor is malt, coffee, and of course bitter chocolate. Chocolate is strong without being cloying. An excellent stout overall.
Not a big fan of this one. Leans too far on the sweet side, mixing a deep milk chocolate core with honey and anise, leading to a growing syrupy backbone that gets stronger as the pint warms. Pine-and-mocha bitterness comes through on the back end, but the sweetness never quite abates. Thin texture doesn’t feel all that imperial, and the pour’s mediocre as well, coming out black but watery and almost head-free. Not bad per se, but kind of a bummer; I had high hopes for this bottle. (Love the packaging.) garyford (4) - - MAY 12, 2017 does not count
Chocolate in your face even when cold. Very velvety and smooth. Hints of cinnamon when warm. Great beer.

Outstanding overall beer. Love the chocolate after hit. An absolute must try for a chocolate stout lover.

Dark brown. Thin head. Big choc syrup, sweet and syrupy but a bit thin. So just thin base beer with bland Hershey syrup in it. fiulijn (21022) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - APR 4, 2017

Black color with beige head. Mild roasted malt aroma, rosty mouthfeel, very dry, with chocolate and ashes.
Really disappointed by the lack of sugars, not as pleasant as I was expecting.
Draft - Insane amounts of dark chocolate syrup. Jet black brown with a decent light brown head. Crazy chocolate syrup notes with a long finish. Exactly what it claims to be. beerplace (1932) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - APR 3, 2017
On tap at Alibi Room during Oregon Breweries Tap Takeover. Pours an almost black with a beige head. Aroma is chocolate waffle cake, like exUSSR Artek waffles, hehe. Taste is quiye artifical, like chocolate chewing gum Bombibom same. This one is quite strange and artifocial, but filled up with tastes from the times when I was a child, haha. weitz15 (593) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - MAR 24, 2017
Dark brown pour, frothy brown head. Aroma of dark chocolate. Malted chocolate flavor, very tart finish. The flavor hides the alcohol pretty well. Andrew196 (1974) - Katy, Texas, USA - DEC 28, 2016
Pours motor oil with a leathery tan head. Rich aroma of chocolate, lactose, licorice, kahlua.... Very inviting. More coffee comes through on the tongue, more chocolate, sweet dark roast, delicious and silky! Great choice for the 1600th review! PugUglyBrewer (764) - - DEC 24, 2016
What can I say other than everything chocolate shake and caramel candy deliciousness cranked to the second power. As with everything $13 or so a bottle I sip slowly though.
