Slight orange flavor. Decent richness. Hazy deep color. Not heavy. Abv is hidden in it. Tap beer-yum (1866) - Wellington, NEW ZEALAND - MAY 24, 2015
Restrained citrus/pine aroma in a cloudy Amber pour. Taste is amazingly laid back and gives no hint of the huge hit (strength wise) one is going to receive. Has to be close to my favourite Rogue brew. PhilJackson80 (531) - Oklahoma, USA - MAY 10, 2015
Bomber. Tasted on 5/2/15. Bottle from Total Wine @ Dallas, TX. Shared with Espo. This was aged over year. Very nice color aroma & taste. Very nice overall.

Draft. Pours thick from the faucet in a mostly clear burnt orange hue, topped with a small but dense head of sandy tan. The aroma has similar fruity yeast esters to Dead Guy: red delicious apples, white raisin, orange blossom. A bit of honey maltiness as well. The flavor has a similar sweetness, but here it’s more malt-focused -- honey, caramel, even a hint of toast. Substantial bitterness settles in at the finish and balances the sugary malts. It’s drinkable, but lacks any special qualities that would require a second helping. 721Lance (82) - Oceanside Ca, California, USA - APR 6, 2015
Better in my opinion than the standard dead guy...as good if not better than double bastard. Mouthful of complex malts and balanced hops of big citrus and earthy hops. Long lasting malty finish.

on tap @ Party Town / Florence KY --- Cloudy dark amber color, frothy beige head, puffy bands of lace. Taste is caramel malt that grows as it turns more semi-sweet, glides through the palate, growing bigger as it adds solid, balancing, hop bittering. Not terrific, but certainly solid enough. [2/13/15] Draught at Rogue Ales Public House in San Francisco. Nice clear amber. Sweet aroma with caramel and a bit of honey. Sweet flavor with caramel and alcohol. Medium-bodied. AleRider78 (1413) - Winchester, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 15, 2015
Pours a hazy, dark amber colour with a large, foamy, creamy head. Had alot of carbonation, very bubbly. Good lacing. Strong, sweet flavours along the lines of toffee and caramel. Malts are evident in the flavour as well as aroma. notes of spices in the taste and in the finish. Smell a tiny bit of the alcohol and maybe some breads. More hoppy than malty. Very good for high abv! SG111 (1981) - New York, USA - MAR 10, 2015
On tap at Rogue, San Francisco. Pours golden color, small white head. Aroma is malty caramel, toffee, candied fruits. Flavor is similar. Really delicious candied dark fruits. Slightly bitter finish. Really nice. OmegaX (1375) - Florida, USA - FEB 22, 2015
Bottle shared with others. I don’t know, I just didn’t care for this as much as the regular dead guy ale. Aroma is light toffee and caramel, hay notes, stale malt. Flavor is similar with a light grassy hop note. Sweet at first with a lightly bitter finish. It’s a decent brew but based on the price I would never repurchase this one.
