3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Hops not over powering. Full body mouth feel. Tiny bit of sweet to marry with the bitter. Well crafted beer.
Very nice, stronger version of the dead guy ale. More malty with a more pronounced hop bitterness throughout. Ronritter (874) - Blaine, Minnesota, USA - DEC 21, 2016
Everything i love about dead guy but more poured from bomber amber color moderate head some lacing lots of spice in aroma and taste Palme (4817) - Bergen, NORWAY - NOV 18, 2016
0.75l bottle brought home from The George and Dragon in Barcelona. Been keeping this for a while in the cellar. The label actually says both 9 and 8.2%. Looks really good in the glass with a warm perfect amber cloudy body under a medium sized eventually fading and light bubbly just off-white head. Love the malty sweet caramel nose that’s loaded with red sweet fruits and a really suiting oxidized touch. Oh, yeah this smells good! In the mouth this one has a somewhat light oily mouthfeel, you can definitely sense that this has been aged and it’s just above soft on the carbonation. Really oxidized in the taste, but still I have to admit that I kinda like how this tastes. More than red fruits, strawberry, wild strawberries with The sweetness you can get from Red currants. Some strong malty caramel sweetness combined with light detergents and it still keeps a nice bitterness towards the finish. A lovely thing, and just wish I could return to the lovely bar where I bought it. Unfortunately I cant. 21.02.2014 Nejhleader (1574) - Lemoyne, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 8, 2016
A nice sweet malty grain taste. A bit of caramel. Decent body. a smooth warming after taste. jjsint (3436) - Leicester, Leicestershire, ENGLAND - AUG 7, 2016
750ml as gift, liberally shared around with good company. As XS Dead Guy, at 9%. Reddish light brown, quite a lot of visible carbonation and very little head. Caramel, freshly baked brioche, candied yams, naked alcoholism l in the aroma. Taste starts sweet as would be expected but there’s a pared-down hoppy bitterness in the latter half of the sip. Bitter cooking herbs, turpentine, toffee in the aftertaste which doesn’t work as well as I’d like. Full oily body without so much alcohol burn going down. Very enjoyable but as a ’big beer’ doesn’t quite have the best balance.

UPDATED: NOV 22, 2016 750ml ceramic bottle at the Head of Steam, Durham. Golden amber pour with a frothy off-white head. Creamy aroma of cereals and hops, along with more vibrant notes of blackcurrant and passion fruit. Thick mouthfeel with flavours of stout cream, oak smoke, whiskey, and the lingering clean flavour of the air after a rainstorm. boto (2261) - Granby, Connecticut, USA - JUN 4, 2016
750 ceramic bottle: 2008 vintage (hiding in the back of the refrigerator for quite a while.) This one pours a clear amber color. There was a fairly decent sized off-white head on it. Leaves a fair amount of lacing. It has a good nose. Grainy, roasted malts, fruits, toffee. The taste is very good. Some graininess, toffee, a bit of bitterness, some fruits in the background. A hint of spiciness also. A very nice brew. I need to check out a fresher bottle, but this was really nice. davidezdonz (571) - Hong Kong, HONG KONG - APR 20, 2016
A 750ml ceramic and wingtop bottle with no bottled on or best by date. Poured into a Mikkeller pint glass. It poured a cloudy dark amber colour with a one finger off white head that dissipated fairly quickly but left some spotty lacing. Aromas of apple juice (very juicy), caramel, biscuit malt, grape and a hint of orange. Taste was quite similar with caramel malt sweetness, apple juice, tea, grape, raisins and dark berries. Medium to full bodied with light carbonation. Overall this was ok. Not bad, but just ok. A little bit too caramel-ly sweet for my taste buds. oldrtybastrd (5003) - Fort Walton Beach, Florida, USA - APR 14, 2016
