Kita (2046) - Koper, SLOVENIA - MAR 25, 2017
Bottle, 0.355l. Clear deep amber color with thick frothy off-white head and sparkling appearance. Aroma of dandelion syrup, resin, caramel, dried fruit and honey. Taste starts with medium sweet toasted malt and caramel, follows by dried fruit and grass, mouthfeel is warming and mild spicy, while finish is pleasantly bitter with long aftertaste. Medium to full body, oily texture and average carbonation in palate. Hoppy as hell, tasty to tell...

3/17/2016 at Rusty Bucket in West Chester, Ohio: Herbal and medicinal, but not really in a good way for my taste, drinks too sharp and hot and definitely one dimensional. Definitely not a beer for me at this time. May try it again in the future if the opportunity presents itself, but I dont generally care for or seek out Rogue offerings.

Amber color. Not really hoppy on the nose which makes it more interesting. Grassy mouthfeel and medium carbonated. A solid west coast IPA.

Appearance 4.5/5.. rounding up to 5, great looking better.. great foamy head, dark amber color.. sticky fizzies. Smell is impressive.. malty, piney, hops.. clean, no obvious funk. Tastes very good.. balanced, sticky sweet malt and hops, citrus. nothing too exceptional though. Palate is slightly thick, but smooth. Overall, oh yeah, its a good one.

10-MAR-2017, draft @Bootleggers Craft Bar, with Morten. Hazy, amber with a lasting, lacing, off-white head. Caramel malt and hops. Sweet, bordering an IIPA (I now see that it is categorized as an IIPA here, though they called it an IPA at the bar). Solid malty backbone. Old-school IIPA. Nice.

Echon (477) - rhus, DENMARK - MAR 10, 2017
Dark amber. Rich citrusy and spicy hops, especially in the aroma, on top of an assertive malt character with some caramel. Full, moderately sweet taste that finishes rather bitter. Medium body. Overall, a great IPA. I prefer malty IPAs with solid bitterness, and this is a great example of those.

Not a bad IPA, bridging the gap between old-school West Coast bitter hop bombs and the more citrus-leaning modern versions. Pours decent, leaving a tiny head but giving up surprising amounts of lace, and smells like pretty much every other damn Rogue ale out there (not bad, just...indistinct). Starts with an orange-caramel sweetness, then picks up those familiar Pacman apple notes before a massive burst of Pacific Northwest pine slathers the palate with resin. Grows dry and yeasty on the back end, and the fade is classic Rogue, mildly citric and piney with a apricot-apple tang underneath. Good, if a bit too comfortable in their house flavor profile.
