Sample at Mondial de la Bière (Montréal). Opaque black body with a thin beige foamy head and low carbonation. Wonderful, complex malty/hoppy aroma with roasted coffee and chocolate hints. Taste is well balanced. It carries grainy and coffeeish notes. Ends with a good bitter/roasty finish. Well done! Keil (171) - Denver, Colorado, USA - JUL 31, 2011
Tap. Smells chocolatey and roasty. Taste is upfront malty with a crisp yeast finish. Lingering chocolate and roasted malt flavors. Slight bitterness. Finishes crisp. Medium bodied with a soft carbonation. Easy to drink, taste the yeast on the end. adavis234 (288) - Charleston, South Carolina, USA - JAN 31, 2012
Sample draft at 2012 Columbia World Beer Festival. Dark black with thick brown head. Roasted, charcoal malt with some hop flavor as well. Looks and acts like a stout except a little hoppier and a little thinner. Very good. Rrauth (1196) - North Carolina, USA - MAR 30, 2012

650 ml. bottle. Pours a medium, lasting, dark beige head, with extensive lacing, over a dark brown (SRM 35) body...nose is cereal, coffee, heavy roasted malts....taste is cereal, coffee, hint of chocolate, cocoa, dry throughout, finishing with light bitterness....mouth feel light, carbonation medium. This meet the style, but may a a bit too rich and roasty as it comes close to Porter like in its flavors. BJCP 7/3/14/4/7 Bonster (182) - Jersey Shore, New Jersey, USA - JAN 22, 2010
Bottle from my beerguy. Black-brown body with a dark tan head. Big roasted malt aroma, cocoa, and a hint of scorched coffee. Heavy roasted bitter flavor, smoke, burnt grains, and cola-ish taste. Decent. TheEpeeist (3709) - Media, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 26, 2010
22 oz bottle. Dark brown with a thick cocoa head. Lacy speckles coat the glass. Nose is coffee, mild chocolate, hay and a touch of smokiness. Creamy medium body with lively carb. Taste is burnt sugar, Baker’s chocolate and lime. WisconsinBeer (716) - St. Paul, Minnesota, USA - JAN 30, 2010
Bottle. Deep brown color with a medium head and residual lacing. Flavor is roasted and chocolate malts, soft and cereal like. Light bodied but immense in flavor. This is quite the creation, but comes across perfectly. Finish is dry with just a hint of hops buried in there. One of the best Rogue beers they’ve made. Bomber. Pours very dark, with very dark head. Smells like toast, burnt notes, chocolate. Tastes like chocolate and coffee grounds. Some grassy notes. Low carbonation, no burn to it.
