Aroma: Pumpkin readily apparent, with hints of caramel malts and edges of floral hops.
Appearance: Clear amber with rocky tan head.
Taste: Light to medium sweetness with hints of bitterness at the edges to balance.
Palate: Medium body, creamy texture, average carbonation, long finish.
Overall: It’s a very solid beer. The pumpkin is there, but not overwhelming, and it doesn’t try to imitate a pumpkin pie by overloading the beer with spices. It’s really well balanced and enjoyable to drink. matty (431) - Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 25, 2014
750 mL bottle. Purchased a year ago, labelled as "Chatoe Rogue First Growth Pumpkin Patch Ale". Pours a deep caramel color with a little red color on the edges. Light tan head, 3/4" slowly settles to a film covering the beer. Aroma is mostly spices - cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves - standard pumpkin ale spices but not overpowering like others. Malt aroma in the background. Medium-full body, taste carries on with the spices but again, they’re not overpowering the malt, it’s very nicely balanced. The finish takes a turn - I get a little coffee, some light toasted notes and its a little dry too. Very good, glad I held on to this one! SPDickerman (1239) - Texas, USA - DEC 20, 2012
Pours deep mahogany with a medium off-white head. Smell is pumpkin with some gentle spice notes. Taste is pumpkin, hints of caramel, and a tiny touch of spice. Medium-bodied with a smooth, slightly wet texture and mildly prickly mouth-carbonation, Chatoe Rogue Pumpkin Patch Ale finishes with pumpkin dominance. 750mL orange bottle pours clear copper with a tannish head of foam. The aroma is a pleasing earthy pumpkin note followed by a modest degree of cinnamon and nutmeg before the end of the draw brings on more smooth sweet pumpkin. The taste is fairly rich with earthy pumpkin followed by complimentary notes of cinnamon and nutmeg that are at a level where they’re letting you know they’re there but allow the pumpkin to be the main flavor player. doublebock (558) - California, USA - JUN 30, 2013
Appearance: light brown reddish hue with white head
Aroma: Cinnamon and all spice
Taste: Light spicy body with pumpkin through and through with a yeasty finish
Overall: Refreshing ale for fans of pumpkin flavor

Clear orange pour with small white head. Aroma is pumpkin spice; coriander, cinnamon and mostly nutmeg. Taste follows nose but not as impressive. carboloader (674) - Houston, Texas, USA - SEP 20, 2014
Wowza!! This one is pumpkin pie in a bottle. So delicious and not overly sweet. The pumpkin really comes through and the spice profile is spot on for my taste. The best pumpkin ale I’ve had yet (most of the time I don’t even bother to rate these). RCx240 (198) - Calgary, Alberta, CANADA - OCT 12, 2015
Pours clear, dark amber. Tan, foamy head. Strong pumpkin aroma, hint of molasses and cinnamon. Pumpkin forward taste, with notes of pie crust, a hint of spice. Medium body, with a slick, almost film-like texture. Soft carbonation. Light, lingering spice finish. I find this to have an excellent balance between the pumpkin and spice notes, enough to complement each other without overwhelming. Pretty pleased with this one. Nice vegetal pumpkin aroma with a slight bit of spice and wood. Crystal clear medium amber/orange color with a small but foamy white head. The aromas follow directly into the flavor, but the pumpkin comes out fully with a delicious flavor that’s fresh, not cooked. The spices are right there but in perfect balance and strength with cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg. Body is thin, maybe a bit watery, but it seems about right for this beer which without the pumpkin/spice would be a nice amber ale. The spices and pumpkin swirl around and finish out cleanly with lasting tastes of both. Light, well balanced and tasty, this is one of the best pumpkin ales I’ve had. arn8897 (399) - Trenton, Ohio, USA - OCT 25, 2015
Pours amber with an off white head. Nice spice aromas. Taste like drinking a pumpkin pie. Very nice. Great beer.
