Appearance: Pours out a hazy, rich amber-hued body with a frothy, foaming, off-white head.
Smell: Smells of a moist well-spiced bread blended with oven-roasted pumpkin meats with a little bit of caramel and additional fruitiness.
Taste: Gritty, toasty baked homemade pumpkin bread with a slight, sweetish caramel edge to it. It has a nice blend of spices without this spice or that spice overshadowing the others (or the pumpkin). Standard Rogue house yeastiness. Slight bitterness aided by the spice character. Finishes out with more spice, but not too much spice, the roasty pumpkin, and some of that vanilla finally making an (albeit mild) appearance.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation. Has a smooth mouthfeel, but also a slight prickliness from the suds.
Overall: A half step above the average pumpkin ale, though at nearly two steps beyond the average pumpkin ale in price.
750 ml orange-painted bottle. Pours hazy red with a medium beige head with decent retention that leaves a little lace. Aroma is full of pumpkin pie scents, with definite real pumpkin. Taste is sweet and savory, full of spices. Body is thinner than I was hoping. Awesome pumpkin beer, although there are better ones out there. hfmejias (1282) - Marshall, Minnesota, USA - JAN 18, 2013
Pours a nice dark orange color, little white head. Aroma is great, a combination of spices (cinnamon), pumpkin, caramel. Can really taste pumpkin flavors, a bit of bitterness, very nice tasting beer, really enjoyed it... arondee (601) - Phoenix, Arizona, USA - OCT 6, 2013
Pours a dark copper brown color with a small white head. Aroma is nutmeg, pumpkins, cinnamon, big time brown sugar. The taste is pure pumpkin pie. Pumpkins, spices, vanilla. This is exactly what I’ve been looking for in a pumpkin beer. TheBeerGod (6209) - Newport News, Virginia, USA - OCT 12, 2013
Bottle - 750mL crowned. Ruby amber with a tall, frothy tan head. Aroma is pumpkin pie, roasted pumpkin, soft spice and soft caramel. Taste is pumpkin pie with spices, caramel notes, roasted pumpkin, light vanilla notes and toasted malt. Body is medium with a soft, creamy carbonation. Ends with more pumpkin pie, spices, roasted pumpkin, soft malt, toasted grains and light caramel. Nice!

Pours cloudy brown orange with a thin off white head. Strong clove notes in the nose with cinnamon. More earthly tasting than spiced, tastes of pumpkin with some soft fruit and a nutmeg aftertaste. One if the better pumpkin ales I’ve had mikedR (1561) - Gilbert, Arizona, USA - OCT 29, 2013
Below average pumpkin ale sadly. Spice and pumpkin flavor are there, but they compete with one another instead of cooperating. No sweetness, and the base beer is thin. Disappointed. C+/B-

Amber brown with light head when poured from a tap. Pumpkin cinnamon aroma and a smooth cinnamon nutmeg taste. Very good pumpkin beer. pdx77 (1483) - Oregon, USA - DEC 14, 2013
On draught at Rogue Distillery & Public House, Portland. Dark golden color. Pumpkin pie spices in the aroma. Taste is fresh pumpkin, nutmeg, cinnamon, and a touch of hops. Finishes with a pumpkin pie aftertaste. Livendadream (230) - New Mexico, USA - APR 9, 2014
Btl pours bright amber color with a thick creamy off white head that lingers, leaving specks of lace. Smells of cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, ginger, caramelized sugar and a hint of pumpkin. Taste of sweet malts, gingerbread, holiday cookie spices, orange zest, vanilla, brown sugar and cola. Medium body, soft creamy texture, lively carbonation and and tongue tingling light bitter finish. Aromas popped out of bottle as soon as opened. Taste is fresh and clean. The first taste/aroma reminded me of grandmas kitchen around the holidays. Nicely balanced, not overly spiced and not over the top pumpkin flavor. This has to be the best pumpkin beer I have tasted so far.
