Strong rye taste, gives it a lot of body, despite the rather low IBU of 25.

Want to like this beer so bad. Flashes of brilliance. But it just falls short in every category.

Pours deep mahogany into an English pint. Tan head with good retention recedes leaving spot lacing. Sourdough and roasted nut aromas. Medium bodied with spicy pumpernickel upfront turning to sourdough before the earthy bitter finish.

Bottle. Pours a dark brown with a thin light tan head. Aroma of smoked meats, smoke, sweet malt, light fruits. Flavor of light smoke, spicy rye malt, and sweet malt, apple skins. Sort of an odd combination of flavors but its decent. Palate is light, a bit sweet. 7/4/7/3/14 (3.5/5)

Sample from bottle @sbwf13. Opaque brown with nearly no head. Aroma is spicy, green tea and rye. Taste is sweet, not too heavy on the hops and with nice rye notes.

Murky dark brown beer with a tidy pale tan head. Palate is smooth and semi dry. Mild fine carbonation. Smooth malt, touch of cream. Whisper of dark chocolate and tangy orange. Little rye spice. Light touches of paper and yeast. Finishes semi dry. Solid if uninspiring.
