Tmoney99 (14494) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - FEB 3, 2013
Bottle. Poured clear brown with an average to large frothy off-white head that was mostly lasting with excellent lacing. Moderate toasted rye sweet aroma. Medium body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Medium toasted sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. This sweet beer would go well with a full bodied cigar.

Drake (13739) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 21, 2013
Draft at Whole Foods Market Charlottesville. Dumb name. Pours a clear copper color with nearly no head. Aroma of dry malts and rye. The taste is herbal notes, rye, dry crackery malts and a jolly rancher-like fruit note. Medium bodied.

3.9

Dogbrick (13018) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - SEP 14, 2014
Sample at Daily Growler Powell. Cloudy brownish-amber color with a thin light beige head that recedes quickly to an outer ring. Spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma of smoked malt, fruit and rye. Medium body with flavors of grainy malt, spicy rye and earthy hops. The finish is subtly smoky with a rye malt aftertaste. Decent overall.

Bov (12636) - Bienne, SWITZERLAND - MAY 23, 2013
[email protected] - pours a very dark brown beer with a persistent beige foam; the aroma is toasted with light metallic tones; earthy and grainy as well; a good malt backbone, pretty tasty, pretty dry and earthy grassy finish; toasted and with again some metallic tones

hopdog (12584) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 5, 2016
22oz bottle. Poured a brown color with a smaller sized off white head. Bready, some smokiness, some rye in there, and some roastiness.

Sammy (12210) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 9, 2013
Initially promising, very dark thick bodied with a long lasting head. Sme roast, smoke. But something a little off, and then a little skunky taste. Didn’t make the grade.I think from Champane’s Cellars.

slowrunner77 (12051) - Reno, Nevada, USA - SEP 18, 2014
"A very spicy dry rye brew, almost overly so. Muddled kinda ugly pour. Beyond that there was some non descript hops and muddled malts, but as much as I like rye beer I wasn’t too impressed with this one. It was ok."

3.3
deyholla (11605) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - SEP 26, 2014
Bottle at Zoo Brew. Pours a clear deep amber with a light brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a lot of rye and a smoked meat note with a bit of sweetness underlying. Flavor has rye and smoked throughout with a touch of bitterness in the finish.
