Bottle at Zoo Brew. Pours a clear deep amber with a light brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a lot of rye and a smoked meat note with a bit of sweetness underlying. Flavor has rye and smoked throughout with a touch of bitterness in the finish.

Bottle @ Ratmans. Thanks you, Ratman! Pours a hazy brown appearance with a cream colored head. Quite spicy rye, caramel, piney, bready, light fruity aroma. Fairly spicy, bready, a bit husky, somewhat citrusy flavor. A little disappointing.

Bomber from Capones. Pours turbid dark brown with 2-finger khaki head. Nose is heavy rye, hops, some butyric acid. Tastes earthy malty, with mild hops, brown sugar, an overall tart rye flavor, and a medium palate heft.

Tap at Happy Gnome. Murky amber pour with a white head. Pretty bland and thin overall - a little rye in here but otherwise kind of empty. Not bad, just not interesting.

Tap at Rogue. Clear, deep red pour. Wispy, white lacing. Nose is funky smoked tea, similar to Kambucha or suchong tea. Smoked, brown sugar taste with kambucha sweet tea. Strange beer. Cloying sweetness as you drink through the small pour, but soft body is a nice change from the abrasive bitterness in most of Rogues offerings.

DuffMan (9920) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - APR 4, 2013
Bottle. Beautiful hazy amber with a red-orange hue and a thick, lasting beige head that leaves sheets and sheets of lace all the way down the glass. Initial aroma is actually a little stinky, then more bready grain and lightly spicy citrus. The palate showcases the spiciness of rye malt perhaps better than any other rye beer Ive had; really lovely malt profile, smooth, with just the faintest smokiness, and a light kiss of hops. Paired perfectly with our spicy dinner of pho.

65 cl bottle @ Timo A.
Pours clear dark copper color with a small head. Quite weird on the nose, some dark berries, rye, caramel malts, mild grain and faint hops. Flavor is fruity and theres a lot of carbonation, gooseberries, malts, rye, some toffee and more malts. Very lively carbonated palate, feels quite light considering the abv. Somewhat unique. Lacks something essential though.
