Bomber from Hayduke that we had together via facebook chat. This beer pours dark brown / amber and is almost a gusher. Very cool lacing. In the aroma I get rye, brewers grain, and a little wood. The flavor is also rye. It is not spicy but more of rye grain. A bit of spice is in the hops, however. Just a hint of chocolate. That wood and a little dark fruit and then some earth. This was not a perfect beer but it had a lot of really fun stuff going on. So much complexity for the style made it a lot of fun to drink. Ughsmash (7508) - Pewaukee, Wisconsin, USA - APR 10, 2013
Bomber. Poured medium reddish-amber with a creamy, well-retained beige head. The aroma picked up sweet smoked malts, caramel, and molasses with accents of earth and toasted rye.. sweet overall and well-balanced. The flavor found mostly sweet smoked malts and caramel at the core, with spicy rye, grainy earth, and tart malty notes around.. more tacky and bitter as it warmed up, with a lot of sharp smoke character and a bit of fruit. Medium-bodied with smooth, rolling carbonation on the palate.. great feel until it got messy at the end. caesar (7170) - Bunnik/Utrecht, NETHERLANDS - JUN 12, 2013
Bottled. Clear copper color, short head. Aroma is really weird, some herbal and spicy notes, wheat, vegetable stock, hint of banana, hint of smoke. Bit dry, soft sweet taste. Strange combination and not really to my liking. swoopjones (7020) - Buffalo, New York, USA - FEB 11, 2013
draft at Coles, darker pour, blackish. Lots of rye, bread, some rye harshness, pretty hefty dose of roasted malts. the main components do not seem exactly in sync. OK wlajwl (7008) - Quad Cities, Iowa, USA - DEC 26, 2012
Aroma is spicy rye and grains. The flavor is rye malts, a hint of bubblegum/bananas, slight sweetness and a tart/tangy finish.

Bottle:   Deep brown, large foamy tannish head, nice lacing.   Pale bready nose, slightly sweaty, pale hops.   Flat maltiness on the tongue, albeit smooth.   Not a lot about this is bright.   Trouble getting
any Rye out of it.   Slight Rye as it warms, but its minor.   Body and mouthfeel are rather smooth.   Soft rye and hops as it finishes, malty, slight sweet, with a soft hop bite.   Good, but nothing special.   Was
hoping for more Rye. AshtonMcCobb (6846) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - MAY 5, 2015
On keg at the Bow Bar.
Appearance - chestnut with some orange chinks. Nice head.
Nose - brown bread, light smoke. A hint of dried fruit.
Taste - big dried fruit cake thing. Lovely smoky backdrop.
Palate - medium bodied with a creamy texture and a balanced dry finish.
Overall - reminds me of Schlenkerla Fastenbier. Delicious. KnutAlbert (6771) - Oslo, NORWAY - FEB 28, 2013
If I could give 10 points for appearance, this would get it. Lovely deep red/brown. Pronounced rye character, quite similar to an oaked altbier. Wood-like finish. Pleasant, balanced, very drinkable. (On tap at Crowbar, Oslo) Patrickctenchi (6691) - Cox’s Knob, columbus, Indiana, USA - FEB 10, 2014
Dark, cloudy brown with a thick tan head.

Flavour is surprisingly smoky, rye malt, apple peel, dark caramel.
Nice beer.... ben4321 (6668) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - DEC 13, 2012
Location: 22 oz bottle from Sparrow-Downtown, 12/13/12
Aroma: The nose is a bit earthy, some yeasty notes, grains, fruity esters, herbs, and a bit of smoke
Appearance: It pours a dark brown color, with a red hue, a lasting, foamy beige head, and heavy lace
Flavor: The taste is much like the nose, with a little sweetness, and some light-medium bitterness
Palate: The body is medium, it has a smooth, creamy feel, a soft carbonation, and a lightly dry finish
Only 3 raters of this one? Seems pretty low for a Rogue beer that I purchased in NJ. Anyway, as for the beer, this one is interesting. There’s a lot going on here for sure. Maybe a little too much? I can’t decide. This one doesn’t make the transition from just interesting to really good. It ends up somewhere right in there.
